  1. Chris Brown is an unrestricted free agent. Unless the titans recently re-signed him. It's L. Whites job for now.

    Who's the team to beat?

    1) Colts- lost a few players, but didn't lose Manning, Harrison or Wayne and that's all they need. 2) Pats- Made enough moves to be 2. 3) Bears- Grossman is biggest concern, but Briggs or no Briggs, still best D in league. 4) Saints- If the defense can stop anyone they'll have a first rd. bye in playoffs. 5) Chargers- Should be two, but firing Marty, letting Cam sign with Dolphins and making Norv Turner Coach was to me the biggest bone head move so far this off season. Lets face it Norv Turner is a great offensive coordinator, but mediocre head coach.

Rumor: Lions and Bucs Have Swapped Picks

Aaron Brooks was released, so he is no longer on the team and there is no question that the Raiders #1 priority is a QB. But Kitna was a borderline pro bowler last year, which was his first year in the Martz system. Kitna is not the long term answer, buy he'll do for now. What people tend to forget is that normally the #2 pick will get paid quite a bit more than the #4 pick, especially a QB. The Lions won't make another mistake by taking Quinn at 2 and investing that much money in him. Gaines Adams is a reach at 2, so if the Bucs decided not to make a deal, the Lions will find someone who will or they will take CJ2. He won't fall to 4.

Rumor: Lions and Bucs Have Swapped Picks

It would make perfect sense for both teams. I think the Lions could get more and I think if this deal goes down that they will end up getting atleast another pick in the deal. The Lions need a veteran DE and to get value for the 2nd pick. They could still take Adams at 4 or even Brady Quinn. As far as the Bucs, they need and want CJ2 and they have been wanting to get rid of Rice. Why not use him to move up two spots and get the best player in the draft. Russell is going to go to the Raiders. Al Davis is not going to pass on a potential franchise QB, that he hasn't had in forever. This trade would work out great for every team in the top 5. 1) Oak- J. Russell 2) TB- CJ2 3) Cle- A. Peterson 4) Det- Adams or Quinn 5) Ari- J. Thomas Everybody gets what they want and players they need. Couldn't work out better. But the Lions should get atleast a 3rd Rd. or early 2nd day pick in the deal as well.

    Ugly fans

How can you be sold on Oakland? Because a few fans are tough looking. They have the hottest cheerleaders in the league and it's sunny California. Green Bay and Cleveland are by far the two worst.

    Bears D next year

Not as good as last season, but will still be amongst the top fantasy defenses. I don't see Hester even coming close to what he did his rookie season. Teams are going to try to avoid kicking to him at all costs and he will definitely be a big part of the opposing teams game plan. Look what happened to Dante Hall and Eddie Drummond after they had their big years in the return game. Overall I still think the defense will be good enough to make some big plays and get some turnovers.

    Lions perfect draft

lol.. Roy Williams is not a bust. Maybe slightly overrated at this point, but definitely not a bust. I see what he's saying though. I thought Charles Rogers would be a great NFL wide receiver when they drafted him. He had some durability questions for sure, but one spectacular catch after another, same as Roy Williams. The only difference is Roy Williams is more consistent and dedicated to getting to the top. Personally I don't think the Lions need to take CJ2, but would not be upset at all if they did. And as far as teams not wanting to give up a 2nd rounder to move up to #2. Thats a crock of S***. If CJ2 and Quinn are on the board, the Lions phones will be ringing off the hook with offers and most teams probably will give up a 2nd rounder. The same way the Browns did a few years ago when they moved up from 7 to 6 giving the Lions a 2nd and drafting Kellen "I'm A Soldier" Winslow Jr. If they were willing give it up then for him, why wouldn't they for Quinn or CJ2 or Peterson.

    Lions perfect draft

The perfect situation would be for the Raiders to take Russell meaning Johnson would fall to two. Then trade with the Bucs and get a 2nd rounder and select Gaines Adams at 4. Hope that Chris Houston falls to really late 1st and use the extra 2nd round pick along with possibly one of their numerous 5th rounders to move up to take Houston. Use the other 2nd to snag Trent Edwards or try to get John Beck in the 3rd. After that I think they should look for an extra WR that can help out on special teams. Possibly Allison from E. Carolina or Stuckey from Clemson. After that use the rest of the picks to build more depth at DB and Offensive Line. I would be extremely happy if Millen could two impact players in the 1st rd and depth and upside the rest of the draft. But after all we are talking about Matt Millen, so expect the exact opposite of what they should do.

    CBS SportsLine's Top 100

Rivers is way to low, Cooley and Winslow will have big years at the TE spot so I think that should be a little higher. Kitna should be a little higher. Thats all I have to complain about. Top Ten looks pretty good. If Peterson goes to the Cards, then I would stick him between 70-80. If the Browns snag him, then definitely higher than that. It depends so much on where he goes. Packers are the popular choice to get Lynch and if they do he could be huge. I would put him somewhere around 35. If the Bills take him early I think it would be somewhat the same. Johnson is guaranteed top 25 with potential to be top 10. I think he is a once in a decade WR and will be monster as long as the Falcons or Titans don't trade up for him. Obviously all three of those guys have tremendous potential if put in the right situation, but I like Lynch and Johnson more than Peterson, because I think that they will be put in better situations to succeed.

Mil Kiper's top 5 RB Rankings ROCK!

Everybody is always bashing Kiper and saying that he is always wrong, but he's not. Sure he's wrong on some players, but most of the time it has nothing to do with a players talent that makes him a bust, it's almost always a mental or some sort of character problem. If he was wrong all the time or even most of the time, then he wouldn't have a job.

    NY Giants 2007 Draft Needs

I like those picks for the most part. DB and LB are the most pressing needs they have. The only thing that I would change is the 3rd and 4th. How about taking Lorenzo Booker in the 3rd (assuming that he's available) instead of a K? I think Booker would be the perfect change of pace back to spell Droughns and Jacobs. Also I have never been a big fan of drafting kickers, atleast not on the 1st day.

    If Arizona is smart....

Why would Arizona use a top 5 pick on a RB? They just signed Edge to a big contract last year, drafted J.J. Arrington in the 2nd Rd. the year before and resigned Marcel Shipp this year. Peterson wouldn't make any sense to draft, when there are so many other holes to fill. Peterson is not a once in a lifetime back or a once in a decade back. He cannot be compared to LT or Walter Payton or anybody at that caliber. If he would have came out last year he still would have went after Bush, so you really can't even compare him to Reggie Bush. The first five picks will look like this. 1) Oakland- J. Russell 2) TB (from Det.)- Calvin Johnson 3) Cle- Brady Quinn 4) Det- Gaines Adams 5) Ariz.- Joe Thomas And if it does work out this way then all five teams are big winners and can get guys that fill big holes and will make an impact right away. Just an observation and tell me if i'm wrong. But when I look at the teams with the top 5 picks. 4 out of the 5 could have huge turnarounds. With exception to maybe Cle. I think they could all compete in their divisions.

    Interesting topic on ESPN.com

The real question isn't if Bo Jackson would have been one of the best ever, but what would have happened to already overrated Emmit Smith. If Bo Jackson and Barry Sanders wouldn't have cut their careers short, then Emmit Smith wouldn't even have been a top 5 back. Remember that Bo Jackson was splitting carries with Marcus Allen virtually the entire time he was with the Raiders and still managed to do what he did. Not to mention that in the early 90's the Raiders were borderline Super bowl contenders, so how many Super Bowls did they miss out on because of his injury.

    If Arizona is smart....

Worst O-line in the league. Peterson will always be in and out of lineup with injuries, no matter if he splits carries or not. Too much of a straight up runner, he will be better than Chris Brown, but just as many health problems. If Joe Thomas, Gaines Adams and Peterson are all there, then Joe Thomas would have to be the pick. If he doesn't fall then I would say Adams followed by Peterson.

    Vince Young < Michael Vick

I agree those stats aren't very good. And I realize that Young didn't start all 15 games he played in. I also understand that Vick has been in the league 6 more years than Young, but what gets me is the part about Young being a winner and will win a championship. Are you seriously predicting that now? The guy won eight games and had a decent rookie year. Out of the eight games he won he beat Houston twice, the McNabbless Eagles, Bills, Giants and Redskins. The Colts and the Jags were really the only quality wins that he led them to and it's not like he was blazing up those defenses for 300 yds. and 3-4 td.s. I seem to remember the Defense holding the Colts to 17 and Manning having 2 or 3 interceptions. Like I said Young is a good young QB, but already overrated. As far as i'm concerned Travis Henry is the one to thank for his ROY award. And he should pack up the trophy and ship to MJD.

    Vince Young < Michael Vick

First of all Vick never became what everyone thought he would and probably never will. But to say he sucks is just idiotic. The guy threw for 2500 yds. and ran for 1000 and thats with every defense expecting him to run. Not to mention 22 total td's. he also had 15 total turnovers. Now lets look at Young. Played in 15 games, 1 less than Vick. 2199 yards passing, 552 yards rushing, 19 total td's and 15 total turnovers. Now i'm not saying that Young will never be better than Vick, but lets not put him on the 1st ballot to the hall of fame yet. He still has a ways to go to catch Vick. Also I really don't want to hear anymore about Young not having any WR's. Drew Bennett and Brandon Jones are better than any receiver that Vick has ever had.
  17. According to the Charlotte Observer David Carr has agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the Carolina Panthers. Carr, 27, made the decision after returning from a two-day visit with the Seattle Seahawks and meeting with his wife at their California home late Thursday night. Carr had visited with the Panthers Monday and Tuesday. The financial terms of the deal weren’t immediately available. http://www.charlotte.com/209/story/76173.html I guess thats a good move for both parties. Delhomme struggled at times last season so the Panthers needed a quality backup to come in and compete for the job. I think it's a good move for David Carr to and wouldn't be shocked if you won the job from Delhomme at some point this season.
