Lots of interesting views and opinions. To each their own.

You have no idea how tempting that sounds...actually was there about 10 years ago. Rolled through the Louisville bat joint and some haunted house place near by. My game is probably not what it once was but would take you up on it in a heart beat. Let me get settled a bit and may just hit you up on it!!!!

Signed papers this past Saturday. Kids first meeting then judge signs off. (I'm guessing that's how it goes??) On the heels of signing she asks me to pay for my daughters trip to Minnesota...I say " I'll pay half"...if looks could kill!

Expecting a draft from her today. We agreed in certain terms to finance and children. I will keep you posted. I assure you the reasons are just and not without the children being on the forefront. As you all know, a tough time for all involved. Everybody is affected; family, friends, kids, etc. We will handle it the best way we know how. Thanks again for advice and otherwise.

Least shocking thing I've read ever!

Not sure I made mistakes .....yet.

The house has been an albatross for both of us. Pretty much the only reason we had not done this sooner...well not the only but one of the reasons. She does not particularly want to be friends, but does understand we need to be civil for the kids sake. We both agreed it would be best if I moved out. We were not seeing eye to eye on various things and did not want that to bleed in to our family time. I moved in with Moms for the time being. Nothing has been etched in stone yet, but we have worked out a preliminary payment plan....splitting debt, money for the kids, mortgage (she would assume with me off completely), etc. It is sad, but am excited to move on...so is she (her words). The further I step away the more confident the correct decision was made. I really don't think I could look back at my life when I was 60 and been "happy" staying in it. We are both young enough (41) to pick up the pieces and forge ahead and see what else life has in store. Thanks to all for the well wishes and advice (Mephisto, IGW, Pats), it is much appreciated.

Thanks JTB...all but the financial/children have been decided. We both have come to terms that we are moving on with our lives with the best interest of the kids on the forefront.

Would if I had them. Pretty lady.

I am not in love, to put it honestly. She is a great Mom and a genuinely nice person. We were never what I would consider good friends, did not communicate particularly well, different interests, different friends. It's amazing we lasted as long as it did.

Thanks IGW, appreciate the linkage!

Can we be divorced and my name stay on the deed?

Thanks Tiki! I moved out in November and my kids are awesome. Very strong independent people. They are very attached to their mother so have spent most of the time with her.

Not any 1 thing actually. On my end just a realization that her and I are good parents and could probably go through life's journey just fine, but are not great friends and are not in love the way folks who are married should be.

Sound advice but I no longer am in love. She is not either but has not come to grips with that yet. The writing has been on the wall for years.

We have a house...that is it in terms of property. She wants it and can't afford it.
