Here's why... FF is all about potential and separation from other teams in your league. As a result, everyone looks for "the next big thing" or the guy who could have his breakout year. Need proof? look at the Bush, Bell, and Addai hype. With Horn, you know just about what you're going to get, nothing more and probably nothing less. So, a guy who's been above average, but not stellar, for a number of years is going to slip in the draft. He'll end up being a solid value for whoever gets him in 4/5, but he's also not going to vault you to the top of your league. Its the same reason D Driver is falling to the 4th in most drafts. The guy had career highs last year in receptions and yards yet no one is even talking about him. My advice, keep it quiet, and pick him up in the 5th when no one else is looking.

wouldnt it all taste like fish? -
Addai is probably one of the most overrated players in the draft this year. No way he takes over full duties this year unless Indy's season tanks for some reason (re: peyton gets hurt). Edge took over as a rook when Indy's offense was much less complex and I dont see Addai getting major PT this year. Rhodes has proven to be capable of carrying the load and to be honest, i just dont see what everyone is talking about with Addai. To me, he's looked slow and unsure in his time.

Must Read If You Have the Number 2 Pick
hotdogcollarsdotcom replied to Skinny_Bastard's topic in FFToday Board
i've got pick #2 and there is no way that team comes together. Fitz is gone at 2, Dillon and probably even t bell are gone at 4/5. QBs are inconsistent at best and you have reaches at irtualyl every position. With all due respect, thanks but no thanks. and you can put that in your sig if you draft that team and win with it. -
i sell dog collars online...seriously. and it doesnt matter how much i make, cause its enough for me to hire someone to do all the work while i play FF and golf all day BTW, dont even ask me how i got into selling dog collars online...its a long strange trip

VaTerp - You're just a nicer guy than i am, cause I dont let anyone tell me what to do. If she offered good, valid reasons for it, then i can listen to logic. But, it sounds like she just would "miss you too much" or that "she is trying to break you of that FF habit" early on. No, i do not know your relationship or your wife, or your life. BUt i do know this, give an inch and they will take a mile. I say this without insult, just with experience, if you are ok with not being an individual and not having much of a say in what brings you happiness, then give in now, and give in forever. If that makes you happy, more power to you (i am actually a bit jealous of this type of person). But, if you value those things that make you happy, you have to stand up for them...because no one else will do it for you.

2 QB Leagues, Why Not? Good Argument
hotdogcollarsdotcom replied to DickJauron's topic in FFToday Board
would certainly make the draft that much more interesting. How about replacing the TE in the FLEX position with the QB. THat way, you get 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR and 1 flex (WR, RB, or QB). I actually think this would force in a lot more strategy into the game and remove some of the luck. -
Where do you rank Hines Ward this year?
hotdogcollarsdotcom replied to Striker99's topic in FFToday Board
nice, hope you like roller coasters actually, im an iggles fan, so i hope he's a FF stud this year. If its a PPR, 100 catches puts him way above that ranking right? Also, I have Driver as a semi-sleeper this year. The Yackers suck and will be forced to trow a lot this year -
The More & More I Look At This Year's Drafts...
hotdogcollarsdotcom replied to thenewlibrahi2's topic in FFToday Board
first of all, relax. You should be focused more on how you're going to steal some great players in the middle rounds instead of your top 2 picks. The first 2 rds basically play out as expected with the exception of the 1 knucklehead who makes a weird pick. You've got a great position in the serpentine, footballscooter nailed this one in his post. its pretty much cliche now, but you wont win your league in the first round. Second of all, psunate, can i join your league? None of those WRs except Moss will be there at 24, FWP and probably Chester will not be there at 49 and Dillon is a reach that early. And i really dont think Heap will be there at the end of the 6th. No offense, but if this is what you're expecting, you're going to be left scrambling during your draft. -

depends on where you draft and what the rest of your team looks like, but i would definitely take him as my #1 WR. His ADP is about mid RD3, so if you go RB-RB, and pick up another "tweener" WR in RD4, you should be fine. As for some details... He's 30, but if you look at the top 10 WRs, almost all of them are 28+ and age isnt as big a deal for WRs as, say RBs. He had an off year last year for receptions, but still had 11 TDs (which i believe is top 5 for WRs). The loss of Randall El should easily push his receptions back into the 80s. Plus, he had Batch and Maddox at QB for 4 starts last year. And those guys cant hit the ocean from the beach. All in all, i would put his value somewhere at the end of Rd 2, and you should be able to steal him in early to mid Rd3 or even late rd 3, early 4 depending on your draft. my .02 -
Add this one to your football quotes. Aikman just asked "Why is that when a guy is from Harvard, or Yale, or Princeton, the first thing you say about him is that he's a smart guy?"
-
So, whats the story with Chris Brown? Can he stay healthy? Will T Henry take some of his carries. Is he as good as he always seems to look in preseason?
-
why in d hell would you add 6 teams to an already competitive league? I would take the money and run to a new league. Seriously, that league will have virtually nothing on the waiver wire, will be ultra susceptible to injuries, and your draft is going to be a test of wills(or who can take the most no-doz).
-
shhhh, its those people who like those #2 WRs that let us get our guys in the mid rounds.

Julius Jones, Willie Parker, Chester Taylor, Corey Dillon?
hotdogcollarsdotcom replied to DB730's topic in FFToday Board
What? Eh? Speak up i can't hear you. seriously though, FWP is th eonly one without major question marks -
In the words of Big Daddy...he's just so...old.
-
#2 in a 12 team PPR - figure to get marvin, reggie wayne, or anquan at 2 and Droughans, FWP, or Bush at 3. I would stay very far away from Moss, either of the Joneses, Warrick, and Jamal at those picks. my .02

Just got offered a HUGE pre draft trade, should i do it? LEAGUE DETAILS 12 team ppr, 6pt td pass, serpentine redraft, TE/FLEX, all other standard I have 2nd overall, other guy "Mike" has 5th overall. He offered the 5th overall pick for my 2nd and 3rd round picks (2.11 & 3.02). He also wants my 6th round pick, but thats just a starting point for some mid round swaps to make everyone happy. thoughts & reasons why (good or bad)
