My $$$ says Tiki comes out of retirement

His $$$ says he will still be retired.

    Better season?

I grabbed Jacoby Jones with the 13th pick, and I think there is a lot of potential there. Obviuosly, you need to keep expectations in check for a rookie WR, but it is also obviuos that the kid has skills. In the 13th I guess you could grab another vanilla #3 wideout for an established team, but you know what you're getting there. Why not take a chance on a rook and hope you hit paydirt? If you do, you have a potential starter, not just a potential bye week filler. Go Jacoby!

I see the typical overreaction is alive and well

I really don't think you have anything to worry about with Harrison. He will get his. The Colts were just taking what the Saints were giving them. Harrison still had a great game.
  4. Let's all not be too hasty and bury the Saints already. It is week 1 after all. Carry on...
  5. Nobody... rooting for injures is seriously bad ju ju. Now spin around three time to avoid the injury hex.

Who are you starting over Lee Evans?

This is interesting... what makes Evans a stud that should be started every week? WRs have a great deal more deviation in their scoring from week to week, so it is a lot more difficult to say whether or not they are deserving of stud status. I know Steven Jackson is a stud, and it would be foolish to start the likes of Jerious Norwood over Jackson, but WRs are not so cut and dried. Looking at Krueger's projection for this week, Evans is ranked 4th out of my 5 wideouts. Houshmanzadeh, Mark Clayton and Vincent Jackson are all projected to have better stats this week than Evans. The only WR on my squad projected below Evans is Jacoby Jones, and the way receivers go Jones could possibly be the only WR on my roster that outscores him. My point is, it is not so easy to determine who the stud wideouts are. All that said I probably will go with Evans anyway. Like has been said before in this thread, there is a reason why he was the second WR I picked, but it is hard not to be tempted by the other match-ups. Good Luck - Dude

Who are you starting over Lee Evans?

CBS Sportsline list Evans as a "sit" this week. Going against Champ Bailey and Dre Bly I can understand it. So who are you going to play over Evans? I think I am going with Houshmanzadeh and Mark Clayton. Hoping for a Monday night slugfest.

    Drop Graham for Mare?

I thought Graham was a steal in the 12th round, and now the hip pointer. They are only 2 points apart in the projected stats, and Mare is on the free agent list. Kicking in a Dome and on a high powered offense, Mare looks pretty good. What do you guys think? Should I grab Mare and let Graham go?

    Benson vs. Jacobs

    Jacobs.

    Bulger or Romo?

I'd play Bulger over Romo, pretty much every week.

    Lineup changes?

I disagree... I think Eli will have a better game than Young. Jacksonville has figured out how to put the clamps on Young and Eli is 3-2 agatinst Dallas. He has all his weapons now go with Eli. I do agree with playing Lewis at flex though.
  13. Mark_it_8_Dude

Rookie RB or WR at flex

I'm probably not much help here as I think you should go with Berrian.

Who are you starting over Lee Evans?

for clarity... I haven't tried to convince anyone to play Clayton over Evans, or anyone else for that matter, just discussing options. I don't even know for sure who I am going to play this week. Just looking at the match-ups that's all.

Who are you starting over Lee Evans?

One more and I'll let this thread die and get back to work... Junkyard Jake Housh... #11 Mark Clayton... #23 Evans... #28 Not that Junkyard Jake knows everything, just evidence that match-ups can influence a person's pick. Good luck all!

Who are you starting over Lee Evans?

You're right my point was more along the lines of even with a good match-up, a guy can still put up a big zero. You just don't know. You are probably right. Doesn't mean that is what I am going to do... that is what makes this a fun discussion. For me anyway.

Who are you starting over Lee Evans?

Sorry unckeyherb... didn't mean to throw you a curve ball, just discussing options. I am certainly not saying don't play Evans, he will probably be ok, especially if I don't play him. If he goes off, you can dig this post up and say "HA HA!" and I will know that I am truely a dope. Good Luck! - Dude

Who are you starting over Lee Evans?

Personally I think Plax has more potential this week than Evans, but I'm a Giants fan so take that for what it is worth. Oh yeah, one more thing not to forget, "No one circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills." - used without permission of Chris Berman. It's a crap shoot people and everyone has an opinion that is why this board exists.

Who are you starting over Lee Evans?

I agree, but I'm not talking about playing Marshawn Lynch over Steven Jackson or anything like that. It is easier to play match-ups with WRs, because week in and week out, it is harder to know who the best one will be. Not be contray or anything, but 4th Round: Housh, vs. Bal 5th Round: Evans, vs. Den 6th Round: Mark Clayton, vs. Cin We are talking very similar value as far as where I drafted them, and of the three I'd say Clayton has the best match-up, and since it is week one how are you to know who has more potential? Just for fun, I had Evans last year and started him, his stat line for week 1 vs. Det: 1 catch 8 yards 0 TDs that is 0 points in most scoring formats. Wish I had been playing the match-ups last year.

    Giants > Cowboys.

Matt Schaub will throw 25 td's and amass over 4000 yards

The only year I won my league I had Mitchell & Moore... Ahhh the good old days.
  23. Mark_it_8_Dude

So...can I win with these QBs?

All of the top QBs in my league were either kept or not around by the time I finnally drafted (4th round 7th pick). So I am platooning Eli, Lienart, and Garrard, & playing the match-ups. I kept SJax, Gore, & Maroney, so my backfield has the potential to carry me. Good Luck!!!

Who is the next stud Wide Receiver?

Vincent Jackson, Mark Clayton, and Jacoby Jones! and yes all are currently on my roster.
