Is Hill really behind? By that much?
I must be looking at different players.

I predicted correctly that after getting caught for Spygate the Patriots would never win again in the Belichek/Brady era. Except that they would continue to get an easy pass each year to 9 or 10 wins and a playoff spot while playing in their traditionally weak division.
That has proven out to be true.

Some of my thoughts are here guys.

I would say Mike Evans is ahead of J.Hill at this point of the season for rookie of the year (largely to his huge game this past week). But I don't see how many of you do not think he is in the running for the award and not in the top handful of rookies right now...
Once again, I'm a big Gio fan, and not a Hill fan. I like Gio's character and don't know much about Hill other than what I see in the games I have watched. I know he dropped in the draft due to character concerns. But I'm sure that for those people who have actually watched 5 or more Bengals games, they'd agree that Hill is the more impressive, and better, running back/football player. And I'm not talking at all about the stats. And if you watch the games, he is a very complete back. I'm not a fan, but very impressed.
On the other hand, I have been very impressed by many of the rookie WRs as well. As a group they've showed solid route running, hands, athleticism, toughness, and blocking. They each have their weaknesses as well.
That said, how the refs are calling the game this year, has lead to big passing game numbers - making QBs and WRs seem more impressive than in the past. (I still think this is a very good rookie WR class)
As for kelvin Benjamin for rookie of the year, I think it'd be an embarrassment for him to be in the discussion at this point. The guy has been force fed, dropping many catchable balls, and picking up a lot of garbage stats.
That can be said for a lot of the rookie WRs and Carr as well. Lots of garbage stats and a league being officiated that favors the offensive passing game.
I don't see how Hill can not be considered for rookie of the year if he continues at this pace. I mean, many consider(ed) his teammate a top 15 RB in the league, and Hill has been the better back on his own team.

So we are about 11 weeks in and J. Hill is rocking it as a RB in a passing league. I'd say if he has another big game or two, he has to be the runaway winner for offensive rookie of year. With inflated passing yards and targets qbs and WRs haven't blown his numbers out of the water.
Does any one think he'll have a big game this week against the Saints? I'm a huge Gio Bernard fan, he seems like a really nice guy. But from the 4-5 games I've been able to watch this year, there is no question that Hill is the better back.

12 team, standard scoring except 6 pts all TDs, 0.5 ppr, 0.75 ppr for TEs
5 keepers - 16 roster spots
Start: 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1flex(rb,wr,te), K, Def
Made a few trades last year and offseason that reduced my keepers from 5 to 4 and moved my draft picks around, but I won't bore you with the details.
My Keepers: Calvin, AJ Green, Julio, and Gerhart
How my draft went: (starting in round six due to the keepers)
Round 6: no pick
Round 7: Rudolph, Ertz
Round 8: J.Hill, Cutler
Round 9: L.Miller, F.Jackson
Round 10: D.Freeman
Round 11: D.Brown
Round 12: K.Davis --> traded to Charles owner for Ridley
Round 13: C.Palmer
Round 14: no pick
Round 15: defense
Round 16: kicker
Expected starting lineup:
QB - Cutler
RB - Gerhart *
RB - FJax *
WR - Calvin
WR - Julio
TE - Rudolph
Flex - aj Green
K - kicker
Def - defense
*will likely be playing matchups all year with RBs, ideally one or two become solid weekly starts, with decent depth to stay afloat when injuries come
BENCH:
QB - C.Palmer
RB - Ridley
RB - J.Hill
RB - L.Miller
RB - D.Brown
RB - D.Freeman
TE - Ertz
Likely will keep 3 WRs again, but need to find 2 more keepers by the end of the season.
Thoughts, help, ratings appreciated.

Was auto drafted this guy after a disconnect. Have not read anything good on him since preaseaon started.
Legit contender to 200 carries this year or is his value soley based on if shonn greene goes down?
Wasted 5th round pick!
Classic.

It's gonna snow, so keep that in mind.
Thanks for the reminder. I'm also going to track the wind leading up to the game. I expect him to get a few more carries than normal if there will be 15-18mph gusts.

Prepare your anus if you bench Davis
I don't know if I should use my heart, head, or pain receptors in my anus when making this decision...
-
This guy hasn't given me production all year from my RB 2 spot, but I've somehow made the playoffs.
I'm considering benching him in my critical playoff matchup this week for D.Woodhead or Joq.Bell....
I desperately need some points. Does anyone have any insider info on Davis? Or ideas if Davis will outperform either of my backups?

I remember having a conversation with my Grandpa a couple of years back. We had been talking about sports. Actually he had been doing most of the talking. Because when he talks I listen. I have learned to ask him questions and listen to him, because he always seems to be right about sports. He seems to have a wisdom and vision that cuts through and sees things clearly and unbiased, unswayed by the media.
Our conversation a few years back was about football, and he had compared Tom Brady to Alex Rodriguez (Yankees baseball player). He talked about how they both put up phenomenal stats, but when it came down to their actual play on the field, neither of them were clutch and both were overrated. Well at the time, I knew Rodriguez was overrated and obviously not clutch. But Tom Brady not being clutch was blasphemy. That was the direct opposite of what the media told me. But now since Brady's failures have finally been brought forth recently for his inability to come through in the clutch and poor 4th quarter play, I'm starting to realize that my Grandpa was right again. Of course he is, he always is.
Looking back at it, Brady built a legacy on early career success, that he largely got by being on a team that gave him that success. Brady had to do very little to get the hardware he did early on in his career. And since then he has been riding the wave of media created hype. Though I do believe he is now a very good QB, just not clutch, and he was average at best during his first Super Bowl and early in his career.
Brady = Alex Rodriquez
- great stats
- not clutch
- championships because surrounded by a great team/organization

Yeah, I'd go with Andre Wright. Not too close in my opinion.

Posted this in another thread, but feel that four months from now you'd be wishing I had given this its own thread:
Well it's too late already.
That's how fast it goes. That's how fast things can change in the fantasy football world.
If you spent a high draft pick on him(Lynch), if you have not yet traded him, and more importantly, are not planning on trading him, and if you have not picked up the Turbinator.....it's too late.
That's how fast things change.
Marshawn Lynch is, and always has been, a violent runner. A reckless one. This guy abuses his body and it will not hold up. Spasms are likely to come back, and if not, other injuries are sure to 'come out of nowhere' due to him ever so slightly having a weakness somewhere else in his body. Somehow the stars aligned and he made it through last season. You have to be delusional to expect it again.
Enter Turbin. He's the perfect fit for this offensive line/system. Hand picked by the coaching staff, and ready to run once given the call. I could go on and on about him, but if you need me to explain....once again, it's too late.
If you are in a dynasty league... try to get him, paying up to the cost at around RB #20 value, when, if you are ahead of the game, you know his 'true value' is sitting around RB #11 right now.

Easy guys, it's early. Rbs need time to warm up and the running game needs time to establish.
This is probably false.

0 catches... is Dez Bryant playing/hurt?
-
Mark Ingram - 32 touchdowns

In no particular order:
1) Aaron Rodgers does not even come close to being the top scoring QB.
2) Calvin Johnson breaks madden curse, finishes in top 5 WRs.
3). Julio Jones does not finish in top 10 WRs.
4). RG3 out produces two out of these three: Rivers, Newton, Ben.
5). M.Lynch and R.Matthews turn out to be better RBs than L.McCoy and A.Foster.

I'd also be interested in joining a competitive dynasty/keeper league with current fftoday members. I can't get away from this stuff during the offseason and the other owners in my other keeper league take a hiatus from the league until about July.
Jeremy Hill Rookie of Year
in FFToday Board
Posted
So are people still writing Hill off? Still saying no way he wins rookie of year?
I personally think he has done some things that put him right there with any other rookie. Add that to the fact that he is doing it for a division leading team.
At the minimum, maybe Gio backers are starting to realize maybe Hill can actually ball a little.
