  1. starting in both my 20 team leagues this week for byes.

if he starts on top of that...it's gold! what a pickup

Jets are going with 3 RB this week - Balow - Washington and Houston -

I think Houston will be #1 when Barlow goes down and Washington will be the 3rd down guy.

  2. WRs off one of my fantasy teams:

    Marvin Harrison (@ NYJ)

    Derrick Mason (vs SD)

    Matt Jones (@ Was)

    Marques Colston (@ Car)

    Braylon Edwards (@ Oak)

I can start 2 WRs. Harrison is an obvious pick. I'm torn as to which other receiver to start this week.

    M Jones - easy

    I need 1 from - M Jones, I Bruce, Kennison, C Henry

  3. Yes, you are crazy.

The guys you picked are the last guys I'd choose if I was picking from the same groups of players...especially at WR.

Its only a 10 team league, no bonus for yards, lots of FA talent, Henry and Bruce are FA. I have M Jones, D Bennet, E Kinnison, T Holt on my roster.

I like WRs that are the #1 on their teams, been doing well with Bennet and Holt, think Kennison will get a TD this week. with Henry and Bruce you never know.

so far im 3-0 with this strategy ... but maybe i'll try Bruce instead

  4. Follow up... I did some testing from turning the deadline over to week 2, so you can enter your picks now for week 2 if desired. You will still be able to change them right up until next Sunday at 1:00 pm Eastern.

where do we enter the picks? Still dont see any links.

    thanks

  5. What a terrible team....the Gates pick will kill you, he is goodbut there are 5 other tight ends who are right with him, ata much lower price.

You guys just dont get it - its bacially an all TD league.

Gates is projected to have 155pts and there are 8 TE below him in the range of around 100 - since everyone has to start a TE. I automaically have a 50% advantage. In fact the TE position has the largest percent disparity from first tier to second tier. Gates is alone in the 1st tier.

Regarding QBs - Consider a typical sunday.

Rothlisberger with 150 yards and 1 TD and 0 picks = 9 points

    Eli Manning - with 300 yards 1 TD and 2 picks = 8 points

whatever you guys - I just made 1 mistake not taking Caddilac in round 2 - wish this thread was still around in December ....

  6. How was Jamal Lewis available with your 7th pick? I've participated in 13 mock drafts and he has been gone by early 3rd round in every single one of them. I think I agree with the others, you must have been drafting with a bunch of baseball fans.

My draft_buddy rankings had Lewis at 63 overall, beow Todd Heap. Its our unique scoring system and the 2 starting QBs - all you guys are just so obsessed with backup Running Backs its ridiculous. You all follow a herd mentality and draft exactly the same way. This is what allows me to get the #1 player in 3 out of 5 starting positions.

You guys should learn more about tiering and value calculation, the draft_buddy software is a great tool.

Depth at RB is nice, but if your starters are solid you never need them. Also If your starting RB goes down, you can always pick up his replacement, its usually the O-Line that is solid anyways. 10-team leagues are won on the waver wires. So the goal for me is to get some positions at a level above the rest and find the next Kurt Warner of 1998 on the waiver wires.

I won my league 2 years in a row - I guess I just have a different approach then you guys. I may have taken some big risks, but if Bell or Addai become starters or Jamal Lewis is back to form. This team will go all the way.

we'll see ------ fantasy sports is a gamble to win money - take some risks!!! and stop obsessing about depth - id rather have the best kcker then the best backups....

you guys must all suck in poker

in a yahoo 10 team league with same draft spot, this is what I came up with:

    S. Jackson

    R. Johnson

    C. Williams

you must have been playing with a bunch of morons

  8. 10 teams - I had 8th pick

    starters: 2QB 2RB 3WR 1TE 1K ----- 6pts all TDs

    Ben Roethlisberger

    Jake Delhomme

    Charlie Frye

    Rudi Johnson

    Joseph Addai ®

    Jamal Lewis

    Deuce McAllister

    Mike Bell ®

    Torry Holt

    Matt Jones

    Eddie Kennison

    Eric Moulds

    Antonio Gates

    Adam Vinatieri

  9. I used the re-ranking option in the draft buddy to move some players aroung to different tiers, but it is not having an aeffect on my overall rankings.

Do I click "Setup Draft Buddy" ? is I do im afraid I will loose my changes.

    thanks

  10. M Bell vs T Bell

These two players should be swapped on the compiler due to the fact that M Bell is the starter.

Are there any other starter/backup issues with the compiler? My draft starts in 2 hours!!!

    thanks

  11. Why the obession with RBs?

You say that all QBs are pretty much the same?

Well the "value" field in the "Buddy" software should take care of that through "Tiering". Correct?

What the reasoning behind adding more weight to RBs at all?

    :(

  12. Thanks Mike,

    I have pick 1.8 , 2.3 , 3.8 etc.....

Its a new league so I am hoping that everyone will key on RB (based on cheetsheets all over the internet) I am thinking going the other way, like this.

    1.8 Manning

    2.3 Holt or Smith

    3.8 F Gore

    4.3 J Lewis

    5.8 Delhomme

    6.3 F Taylor

    7.8 L.J Smith

or do I need to pick up Cadillack at 2.3 ??? either way this software rules!! thanks

    :first:  :headbanger:

  13. 10 teams 6 points for all TDs - 1 for 50 yds passing 1 for 20 yards russing/receiving - no bonus points

Passing Yards (50 yards per point)

    Passing Touchdowns (6)

    Interceptions (-2)

Rushing Yards (20 yards per point)

    Rushing Touchdowns (6)

Reception Yards (20 yards per point)

    Reception Touchdowns (6)

    Return Touchdowns (6)

    2-Point Conversions (2)

    Fumbles Lost (-2)

  14. Compiler Recommended I think devalues QBs a little too much for start 2 QB leagues, which is where that comment is coming from. Try Median Player Drafted with no adjustments as a starting point.

    median adjusted - top 10

    1 RB Larry Johnson KC 3 232.9 117.7

    2 QB Peyton Manning IND 6 262.4 102.1

    3 RB Shaun Alexander SEA 5 216.5 101.3

    4 RB LaDainian Tomlinson SD 3 195.9 80.7

    5 QB Matt Hasselbeck SEA 5 206.2 45.9

    6 RB Tiki Barber NYG 4 156.1 40.9

    7 RB Steven Jackson STL 7 153.6 38.4

    8 WR Torry Holt STL 7 133.4 37.9

    9 QB Tom Brady NE 6 197.6 37.3

    10 RB LaMont Jordan OAK 3 151.3 36.1

so do I really draft Manning over Alexander in a league with 2QBs?
