That is solid reasoning. Warner threw the most 300 yd games last year and he is playing SF. Nuff said.

Don't start Portis. He is hurt. He did not practice today. He might be the biggest bust of the year.

If I had to let go one of them it would be D Williams with Addai second. Mike Bell has given Shanahan enough confidence to let go of Ron Dayne. Tatum Bell make the situation iffy but the word from Denver is that Shanahan felt that Tatum Bell was given enough chance to prove himself and failed. That's when Mike Anderson came in for platoon duty. So far Tatum Bell is the only guy not named the starter in Denver so there is no reason to believe that the report is not true. Although this last press release has to do with Tatum Bell handling the demotion well. Basically shutting up and being a team player and has won points with Shanahan. At this point nobody know, Cedric Cobbs could come out and start this week, but IF Bell is or becomes the starter then he would be more valuable then Williams and Addai. The Broncos run the ball, that is who they are. All three are rookies but I would pick any back starting for Shanahan any day of the week.

Taylor for sure. Driver has been demoted and Lundy is unproven. Take your pick. Whenever choosing between a rook and a vet, the vet is the safer choice.

You have pretty good options. Lewis, Taylor are sure fire starts. Rhodes has upside but the issue of when and how many carries Addai will get makes him a slight downgrade. Clayton could be in for a banner year but with Galloway still holding court and now Boston in the mix it is still in the air. I would go with Lewis and Rhodes although it would be nice to play Taylor now while he's healthy because at some point he will be unusable.

Your QB's are really a toss up. Both are on new teams and both are coming back from injury. Both are playing away. Cullpepper has looked better so far but Chambers has thumb problems so he may be iffy even if he plays. Brees has been mediocre but has the better matchup. I like Cullpepper but really an argument could be made for either one. For your RB Williams and McGahee are the picks. Always go with your best players if for no other reason. Gore looks better than Barlow but remember he's in SF. Taylor is averaging less than 2yds per carry with his new team and that's a little concerning.

picking #3 WR -- Galloway, Engram or Ferguson

No question Galloway. He is still the man in Tampa. Keep an eye in Engram. He has shiined in training camp and earned the trust of Hasslebeck. Jurevicius as the #3 WR had his best year and now Engram goes back to the third wideout so his numbers should be up this year.

    Should I start Torry Holt?

Keep tabs on Holt. He had an MRI which doesn't mean anything particular except that the injury was worse than they thought. It would not be a suprise to see Holt hyped up and ending up not playing becasue the Rams son't want to let on that there go to guy will not be the field for the opener. Eric Moulds still has the goods and since he is not the primary wideout he will draw better matchups. He is sure-handed and should be okay this year. Kevein Curtis has shown some flashes last year but that was when Bruce was out. Now he's back so he's not a sure thing. The Rams third WR always viable in fantasy but that was with Martz who is gone now. Wait until you start him.

Jackson is iffy right now so I wouldn't be suprised if he doesn't play or is limited in week 1. Especially since Engram has shined in training camp and earned Hasselbeck's trust. Word from the Bills camp is that Evans has earned the confidence of the team to take over the number 1 spot, they will feature him in the passing attack so he has a very good chance of scoring. Kennison is still the go to guy in Kansas City and should be steady as usual but don't expect spectacular numbers. Drew Bennett should be downgraded for the time being until they get the QB situation settled. Volek is hardly a reliable QB and V Young and Collins are not ready yet. I go Bennett too and I'm looking to drop him if he struggles early. Mark Clayton has lots of upside but with Mason getting the red zone looks from McNair I would wait. Go with Evans and Kennison.

    Team Analysis

Although you do have good RB's I agree that it would be a good idea to add a better backup. I like Carnell Williams to be solid this year as long as he doesn't injured of course. Gruden is focusing on making th o-line better and this will be the second year for them as a unit so the running game should improve. I might pick up Pittman as insurance though, he has had a pretty good training camp and is expected to have a bigger role in the passing game, but at the very least he is insurance for Williams. Jordon would be money except the Raiders looked so crappy in the preseason. If they have trouble passing the ball then Jordon will face 9 men in the box all season long. Gado has cemented his role as backup to Green and with the problems the Packers have with the o-line Green may get hurt but right now word is he is heathly. Hang on to Gado, Barlow may be a dissapointment but it is worth waiting to see how things play out in NY. Blaylock has been named the starter for week 1 but that doesn't really mean much since Barlow needs to learn the offense.

Defintely Westbrook with caution. With TJ Duckett gone look for Justin Griffith to pick up his goal line carries. He is an excellent between the tackes runner but lacks the second gear once he gets through the line. Has a slightl chance to unseat Dunn. Atlanta does run the ball a lot so Dunn does have a decent chance to post good stats. Westbrook is more talented and is more of a focal point in the offense. The coach does have a track record for liking beigger backs and Buckhalter has shown some flash in the preseason but his knee is still questionable two years after blowing his ACL. Westbrook has the speed and pass catching ability to make him a threat to score everytime he touches the ball. The caution is that he seems to always sprain his anke. He has tried a new conditioning regimine this season but he already twisted it. Latest word is that he is healthy and good to go. I would take moats or buckhalter as well, watch the first few games to see which one is used more.

    Please look at my team

Any team can be improved upon, it depends on the options. What players are available. Any possible trades you are working on?

Realistically you are only offering Addai and KJ since Dayne is still a non-factor at this point. Looks like Rhodes will get more carries, he is the veteran and is a better blocker. KJ is a great possesion wideout but signing with a new team lowers his value a little. Reggie Wayne would make your WR depth solid without depleting too much from your other positions. I would do it.

S Parker, Jennings, Engram, E Parker, Cooley

Here are your best choices: Engram has had a fantastic training camp and pre-season. Hasselbeck has praised him which is a very good sign that he will look to throw to him this season. Last year Jurevicius excelled as the #3 wideout in Seattle and Engram has a decent chance to put up some good numbers this year. b]S Parker[/b] Although lacking ideal size he has good speed and burst. Had trouble with drops in Tampa and KC but the Chiefs are still hoping he will come around. He is in his "magical" third year so we may see a breakout. He also finished the preseason strong. E Parker lacks toughness and with Gates and LT in the mix he is actually the 3rd or 4th option. Jennings has had a fantastic pre-season and Farve likes him but rookie WR's are always a longshot, the best rookies only put up mediocre numbers and he hasn't seen top defensive backs yet. Coolie is a TE. I would consider him before E Parker and Jennings.
