    Trump Recession Thread

Let's see how this plays out with the US and worldwide economy. https://x.com/EdKrassen/status/1910021401676824850 BREAKING: Trump just announced a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs and the 10% tariffs effective immediately.

Yeah, a way lot longer until 1939, although many historians say the Great Depression ended in 1941 due to WW2.

IRS may turn over tax data to immigration officials

It was the IRS who promised this and I believe it preceded Biden's term in office, although I don't know the exact starting date. https://abc30.com/post/department-homeland-security-asks-irs-turn-unauthorized-workers-addresses/15985583/ Many undocumented workers have paid federal taxes for years using an IRS program that allows them to report their earnings, regardless of their immigration status. Since the start, the IRS promised to not share their information.

IRS may turn over tax data to immigration officials

It might as well have been. When the US government makes a promise and gives it word, that should be honored, but obviously you don't feel that way. SMH.

IRS may turn over tax data to immigration officials

Oh, we get it all right. We get that the IRS made a promise to these folks that if they compiled with the law and filed tax returns, then that information would not be turned over to immigration officials. Now the government is breaking that promise.

"BE COOL! Everything is going to work out well. The USA will be bigger and better than ever before!" - President Donald J Trump (this morning on a social media post) That is reminiscent of the quote attributed to Herbert Hoover as the US economy sank into the Great Depression of the 30's: “Prosperity is just around the corner"

Obama inherited a bad economy. Under the circumstances he did pretty good (and the American people thought so too as he was reelected).
  9. Oh, yes, such a joke: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_pandemic_in_the_United_States In the United States: 103,436,829 confirmed cases 1,193,165 confirmed deaths
  10. Exactly. Getting a Social Security number doesn't mean you are receiving or will ever receive Social Security benefits.
  11. Exactly, Like the MAGA crowd will do now the jobs of migrant workers and picking crops if there aren't enough undocumented workers to do it after all the Trump deportations.

IRS may turn over tax data to immigration officials

Told you all in the OP this might happen. https://x.com/CBSNews/status/1909715200913056100 The IRS said that it has agreed to share immigrants' tax data with Immigration and Customs Enforcement to help identify and deport undocumented immigrants. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/internal-revenue-service-immigrant-tax-data-ice/?ftag=CNM-00-10aab7e&linkId=793804145

Is this what FBGs was like?

It didn't happen and you know it. It is impossible for me or anyone else to find a post of Joe telling me to stop posting tweets because he never said that. No one could prove Joe didn't say something, they can only prove what he did say. One cannot prove a negative.

Is this what FBGs was like?

Fun Fact: You haven't seen the receipts because they don't exist. When someone makes a claim, if their claim is disputed, then the burden is upon them to provide the link and prove it. You know it is a fabrication when you ask for a link and their response is: "I won't do your homework for you"
  15. squistion

Is this what FBGs was like?

Not always, he often posted a tweet by someone like Adam Schefter or Ian Rapoport without comment (you see because it was a news item and similar to what I was doing reposting tweets from, let's say, Kyle Griffin.

Is this what FBGs was like?

Dude, I have said several times that Joe told me to cut back or cut down on the number of tweets I was posting, but he didn't say to stop tweeting entirely (and it makes no sense that he would given that he was posting tweets himself on a daily basis).

    Fixed your post:

Is this what FBGs was like?

Translation: I'm lying about what Joe said and can't provide a link.
  19. squistion

Is this what FBGs was like?

And that is how I know for sure you are lying, because I remember specfically what Joe said to me, and it wasn't to stop posting tweets in the PSF. Once again, if it is factual that Joe told me that, provide a link (which should be really easy being an ex-mod. )

Is this what FBGs was like?

Yeah, right. And if anyone believes that I got a bridge I want to sell them.
  21. squistion

Is this what FBGs was like?

False. And you can't provide a link to Joe saying that. And, once again, what handle did you post under? I keep asking that and you keep avoiding an answer. Your detailed knowledge of Tim and I there indicates you were probably a pretty active poster on the PSF and not just a lurker.
  22. squistion

Is this what FBGs was like?

Not true. Joe only told me (paraphrasing) to cut back and reduce the number of tweets I was posting. Joe never told me to stop posting tweets entirely, probably because he was posting tweets himself on a daily basis, mostly in the SP. It would have been laughably hypocritical if he had asked me to stop while he kept reposting tweets himself.
  23. squistion

Is this what FBGs was like?

No they didn't, but the false narrative (that Joe Bryant would also find revisionist) keeps getting repeated that you and I got the PSF closed.
  24. Panican seems to be a blend of Panic and Republican, which looks to be directed at the MAGA folks and those who voted for Trump (they are the ones panicking now over the impact of the tariffs). Those of us on the left tried to warn you this would happen. We weren't conned by the false promise of lower egg and grocery prices (we said to believe Trump about the tariffs, so this debacle was not unexpected and we are not panicking).
