  1. https://twitter.com/kylegriffin1/status/1785330812809777570 Prosecutors and Trump's defense team are reviewing texts from ex-National Enquirer editor-in-chief Dylan Howard and whether they should redact one saying "there is shady going on." It was from Oct. 19, 2016 — in the midst of negotiations over the Stormy Daniels deal. Daniels' publicist Gina Rodriguez, believing there were delays with Daniels' payment, texted Howard, "There is some shady going on."
  2. https://twitter.com/kylegriffin1/status/1785327115526672884 Asked by prosecutors whether any of the wire transfer paperwork indicated that Michael Cohen wanted to transfer money on behalf of a political candidate, banker Gary Farro says "no" and that additional questions would've been asked if that were the case. Farro denies any of the wire transfer paperwork indicated that money was being transferred for payment to an adult film star. @NBCNews
  3. Jon claimed that but he could never provide a link and I couldn't find one either with a Google search.
  4. OK, then, let me rephrase: If the case is as blatantly unconstitutional as jon claims, then Trump's lawyers should have made a motion to dismiss. No?
  5. So are you saying that if a criminal case is as blatantly unconstitutional as jon claims, there is nothing the defense can do, no motion they could file?
  6. If it is as unconstitutional as you claim, then it never would have gotten this far as Trump's attorneys would have moved for a summary judgment and if denied they could have sought appeal immediately all the way up to SCOTUS.
  7. Sure, particularly when the participate is engaging in an insurrection or attempted coup. And reading the US Code, it doesn't seem a stretch here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_disorder According to the U.S. Code, a person is engaged in civil disorder if he or she [...] (3)...commits or attempts to commit any act to obstruct, impede, or interfere with any fireman or law enforcement officer lawfully engaged in the lawful performance of his official duties incident to and during the commission of a civil disorder which in any way or degree obstructs, delays, or adversely affects commerce or the movement of any article or commodity in commerce or the conduct or performance of any federally protected function."

In August 2018, Cohen pleaded guilty to eight counts including campaign-finance violations, tax fraud, and bank fraud. 14. https://www.forbes.com/sites/alisondurkee/2024/04/12/trumps-hush-money-payment-isnt-illegal-in-itself-heres-why-hes-actually-on-trial/?sh=20c1c01c37f3 The alleged crime that Trump’s been charged with, falsification of business records, is typically classified as a misdemeanor under New York law, but is elevated to a felony when it’s done to facilitate another crime. That’s what prosecutors are alleging here—all 34 counts against Trump are classified as felonies—with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg arguing that the allegedly falsely labeled payments were done to cover up other crimes, including Cohen’s campaign finance crimes and alleged tax issues, as the payments to Cohen were falsely characterized as income rather than repayments.

And apparently there were no animal shelters near where she lives that she could have given the dog to so it might have been adopted.
  17. Once again... PAYING HUSH MONEY IS NOT ILLEGAL as it is a considered a Non-Disclosure Agreement. Falsifying business records to disguise that payment as being something else is.

So, the defense from some folks I am seeing here for Kristi Noem murdering her dog is that Democrats support worse things? Really? Is that the hill you want to die on?
  19. https://manhattanda.org/district-attorney-bragg-announces-34-count-felony-indictment-of-former-president-donald-j-trump/ Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr. today announced the indictment of DONALD J. TRUMP, 76, for falsifying New York business records in order to conceal damaging information and unlawful activity from American voters before and after the 2016 election. During the election, TRUMP and others employed a “catch and kill” scheme to identify, purchase, and bury negative information about him and boost his electoral prospects. TRUMP then went to great lengths to hide this conduct, causing dozens of false entries in business records to conceal criminal activity, including attempts to violate state and federal election laws. TRUMP is charged in a New York State Supreme Court indictment with 34 counts of Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree.
  20. From reports I have seen that is what he has been charged with.
  21. I didn't say it was impossible. It is just I have never heard of a single case of impersonation that has been charged as a hate crime, not one. The crime may have been motivated by race but nothing has been presented as evidence outside of the fact that the perpetrator is black and the victim is white (which would never be enough by itself to bring a hate crime charge in any statute on the books).
  22. https://twitter.com/kylegriffin1/status/1783932961311596683 Prosecutors have now called Rhona Graff, Trump's longtime executive assistant, to the stand. Graff says she's testifying under subpoena. The Trump Org. is paying for her two attorneys... Graff says Trump kept contacts for both Karen McDougal and Stormy Daniels in the Trump Org.'s computer system... Graff says she once saw Stormy Daniels in the Trump Tower reception area.
