  1. You know why? Because they would have been picked up by the magnetometers that Trump wanted shut down. It was later verified that some had brought guns but the magnetometers stopped them from getting past a certain point.

Here Are The Weapons Prosecutors Say They Used In the wake of the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, a popular narrative has emerged: that because rioters did not fire guns that day, they were not really "armed." But a review of the federal charges against the alleged rioters shows that they did come armed, and with a variety of weapons: stun guns, pepper spray, baseball bats and flagpoles wielded as clubs. An additional suspect also allegedly planted pipe bombs by the headquarters of the Democratic and Republican parties the night before the riot and remains at large. Those weapons brought violence and chaos to the Capitol. Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick died one day after two rioters allegedly sprayed him and other officers with what prosecutors describe as an "unknown chemical substance." Four other people in the crowd died in the insurrection, and more than 100 police officers suffered injuries, including cracked ribs, gouged eyes and shattered spinal disks.
  3. If so, this time they will be ready for them around The Capitol. The crowd will not be handled with kid gloves.

    JStew coming back to TDS

They say you can never go home again, but if there ever was going to be an exception, this will be one. It is a good thing he will only stay through the election, so he shouldn't suffer a burnout like he did before. It will be so much fun to watch him eviscerate Trump, The GOP and the MAGA crowd.
  5. Actually, The Trump Train Wreck is heading to DC, but will be derailed somewhere along the route.

    No topic on George Santos?

Maybe to prepare himself for his prison food diet.
  7. Unlike you, I've admitted I have been wrong at least a dozen times. Accused of that before and here is one instance where I responded, posting some examples (from a few years back in the PSF). 8. It did. I'd try to find an article with social workers or whoever worked with the separated kids talking about it, but I am sure you wouldn't admit you were wrong. And yes, it was different than the Obama policy.

    More grooming from the right

There is a difference between actually pleading guilty to sexual abuse of children and never having been charged with it.
  10. Yes, toddlers being pulled from their mother's arms and screaming does seem mean. Just sayin'

I don't agree and I would assume other liberals/progressives on this forum would agree.
  12. Do you mean when Obama separated 3900 children from their parents, including crying toddlers? Oh, wait...that was Trump. https://apnews.com/article/az-state-wire-donald-trump-immigration-lifestyle-government-and-politics-54e2e5bbff270019d8bda3c81161c7c7 US identifies 3,900 children separated at border under Trump SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Biden administration said Tuesday that it has identified more than 3,900 children separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border under former President Donald Trump’s “zero-tolerance” policy on illegal crossings, providing one of the more detailed accounts of a chapter in U.S. immigration history that drew widespread condemnation. The Biden administration’s Family Reunification Task Force count of 3,913 children separated from July 1, 2017, to the end of Trump’s presidency is well below the more than 5,500 children identified by the American Civil Liberties Union in court filings, based on government information. The task force said it identified “nearly all” children who were separated under the zero-tolerance policy but will review another 1,723 cases since July 2017, which would bring total cases examined to 5,636, close to the ACLU tally. The discrepancy appears to stem largely from a federal court ruling in San Diego that excluded 1,723 children who were separated for reasons other than Trump’s zero-tolerance policy, such as risk of child endangerment or questions about parentage.

I got a promotion! Used to be just a liberal bot.
  14. If elected, he probably will do that, along with most of the other anchors at MSNBC.

IIRC he was a legacy admission (an affirmative action program of sorts) and probably wouldn't have met the academic standards for admission if not for that.
