The church steps can not be considered a public crosswalk, so Abbott can't deny the city any funding because of that. In related news:

Jen Boring In The Psaki - Does it get any more hypocrtical?

More like 15+ years ago. Tim has apologized for his comments on several occasions and claimed he misunderstood the fact situation but they still keep repeatedly trotting out this Straw Man - that what he said makes him a pedophile (although no one has ever stated specifically what that accusation is based on). -

U.S. Military and boat strikes thread - Hegseth will not release the full unedited video of second boat strike
squistion replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/us-hegseth-three-deadly-boat-strikes-pacific-9.6956503 U.S. strikes on alleged drug boats kill 14 people in Pacific waters, defence secretary says A series of strikes conducted by the U.S. military on boats in the eastern Pacific Ocean killed 14 people and left one survivor, U.S. Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said Tuesday, alleging those on board were drug traffickers. In a post on X, Hegseth said Mexican authorities took over the search-and-rescue operation for the lone survivor from the three strikes, which took place on Monday. "The four vessels were known by our intelligence apparatus, transiting along known narco-trafficking routes, and carrying narcotics," Hegseth said, without providing any evidence. Hegseth posted a roughly 30-second video, which appeared to show two vessels close together in the water before exploding. Another part of the video shows a vessel moving in the water, which then explodes. After a series of strikes in the Caribbean beginning on Sept. 2, the U.S. government announced for the first time last week that its deadly operations had extended to Pacific waters. Experts have questioned the legality of the strikes, which have killed at least 57 people. There has been no indication that other efforts were made to halt the shipments, and under normal circumstances, the U.S. Coast Guard is involved in drug interdiction. -

Brandon Johnson is right. Good for him. Get the terminology right. While a person's actions may be unlawful, they cannot be illegal themselves. -
Jen Boring In The Psaki - Does it get any more hypocrtical?
squistion replied to edjr's topic in The Geek Club
I think that is due to the time slot, more than anything else. I don't watch her show because I find her boring and think she was a poor choice to replace Rachel Maddow. -

Donald Trump wants states to handle their own natural disasters instead of FEMA.
squistion replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
From my friend Grok. Trump Administration Approves FEMA Aid for Republican States, Denies Democratic Ones Last updated 36 minutes ago The Federal Emergency Management Agency approved major disaster declarations for Alaska, Nebraska, North Dakota, and a Minnesota tribe following severe storms in September and October, providing federal recovery funds. In contrast, FEMA denied similar requests from Illinois, Vermont, and Maryland despite significant flood damages in those states, including Trump-supporting counties in Maryland's Allegany and Garrett areas. Critics, including former officials, question the decisions amid partisan patterns in emergency relief approvals. This story is a summary of posts on X and may evolve over time. Grok can make mistakes, verify its outputs. -
Barack Hussein Obama going to jail? Tulsi says maybe
squistion replied to edjr's topic in The Geek Club
Yes, let's all remind everyone in the OP that his middle name is Hussein. I didn't click on the link...so what does Tulsi claim that Obama did exactly that merits prison time? -
Well, if he refuses to negotiate with Democrats, then whose fault is it?
