    What are you calling out?
  2. In some school districts books were banned for the appropriate age of students they were recommended for, which, in the case of Gender Queer, did not include 3rd graders.

Yes. It was an insurrection or attempted coup. Yes. Trump was a causal factor which will be proven by Jack Smith. I don't know what you exactly you mean by the 3rd bolded.
  4. I have said nothing about the book Gender Queer and no, it hasn't been made available to 3rd graders from any source I've seen. Fox said the NEA recommended it for elementary schools, which was a falsehood. https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2023/gender-queer-book-in-elementary-schools/ The NEA didn’t recommend the ‘Gender Queer’ book for elementary schools. They recommended it for educators Several Fox News hosts have falsely claimed the National Education Association recommended the graphic memoir for young students. [...] But “Gender Queer” deals with the author’s journey of coming out as nonbinary and asexual. And the NEA says the list was always intended for adults. Fox News itself noted the NEA’s list was for educators in a separate online article published July 4. After blowback and misinformation spread, the NEA on July 5 appended the reading list with an editor’s note. “Educators read diverse books so that they can better understand their colleagues, students, and families they serve,” it said. “The books here are not recommended for students.” Fox News did not respond to PolitiFact’s requests for comment.
  5. Seriously, would we be still talking about him if he had retired to Mar-A-Lago? I doubt it, outside of his legal troubles.
  6. That was in the City of Burbank, which has its own school system and it removed To Kill A Mockingbird and Huckleberry Finn (among others) from the "required classroom reading lists" but did not ban the books - the titles are still available for individual reading and teachers can use then with small groups (under certain circumstances). The was after parent complaints about the use of racist epithets' https://www.marshall.edu/library/bannedbooks/to-kill-a-mockingbird/#:~:text=After parent complaints about the, from required classroom reading lists.
  7. I don't get the name calling in this forum and I mean for both sides. Seriously, how do you expect to have a serious discussion with anyone if you insult them?
  8. Like To Kill A Mockingbird? (which has been removed from the shelves in some school libraries) Fun Fact: Freedom of speech does apply to books, per SCOTUS.
  9. Link to being OK with 3rd graders being exposed to this?
  10. Hostages? They are criminals many of them convicted for assaulting police officers. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-iowa-skirts-jan-6-talk-attacks-anniversary-2024-01-06/ Trump, in Iowa, demands release of those jailed for 2021 Capitol attack CLINTON, Iowa, Jan 6 (Reuters) - Donald Trump on Saturday downplayed his role in the siege of the U.S. Capitol on the third anniversary of the attack, arguing that those prosecuted for storming the building should be freed. Speaking at a campaign event in Clinton, Iowa with the first Republican nominating contest little more than a week away, Trump called those jailed in the wake of the Jan. 6, 2021 attack "hostages" and said they had been mistreated by the Biden administration. "They've suffered enough," Trump said. "I call them hostages. Some people call them prisoners."

Lawrence Tribe is the most respected Constitutional Law Professor in the nation (and has been for decades).

You took two quotes in isolation out of context when I was discussing two separate things and then make it look like I was contradicting myself, which was not the case. But carry on.

Taken out of context. Those quotes are referring to two different things. But carry on.
  14. True, like banning books in schools...Oh, wait...
