You have got to be kidding... Trump Terminates US-Canada Trade Talks Over Ontario's Reagan Anti-Tariff Ad Last updated 6 minutes ago President Donald Trump announced the termination of all trade negotiations with Canada on Wednesday night via Truth Social, in response to a $75 million ad campaign by Ontario featuring Ronald Reagan's 1987 speech warning against tariffs and their role in the Great Depression. The ad, targeting U.S. viewers during baseball playoffs, uses verbatim clips from Reagan's address criticizing protectionism, which Ontario officials defend as a counter to potential U.S. tariffs threatening auto supply chains. Fact-checks confirm the audio's accuracy despite claims of selective editing by the Reagan Foundation, raising concerns for the $1.3 trillion USMCA trade relationship amid escalating tensions. Well, yes, but the other cities where Trump sent in the NG had all made substantial progress in reducing crime in recent years too: Chicago, Portland, Washington DC, etc, all did, and their mayors didn't want the guard deployed in those places either...so I think there is more to this than the "official" explanation, which I really don't buy. -

Well this is good news...wonder what really made him change his mind? From NYT Newsletter: BREAKING NEWS Adriana Zehbrauskas for The New York Times Trump Shelves Plan to Deploy Federal Agents to San Francisco President Trump said he was calling off, at least for now, plans that would have surged immigration agents into the city this weekend, writing on social media that “friends of mine who live in the area” had asked him to reconsider. -

Alongside singer Marc Almond, the duo scored a worldwide hit with their cover of Gloria Jones' Tainted Love in 1984, and their debut album Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret is considered a classic of electronic music. He later formed the pioneering techno group The Grid, who achieved chart success with 1994's Swamp Thing. Ball died peacefully in his sleep at his home in London on Wednesday 22 October, just weeks after playing a headline show with Soft Cell at the Rewind Festival in Henley-on-Thames. During that show, Ball performed in a wheelchair, as he had for the last two years, following a spate of ill-health. "I managed to damage myself quite a bit," he told the Yorkshire Post in 2023. "I fractured lower vertebrae in my spine and cracked about five ribs and broke my wrist". After catching pneumonia and developing sepsis, he was placed in an induced coma and remained in hospital for seven months. However, he had been in "a great place emotionally" over the summer, as he worked on a new album with Almond, called Danceteria, which is scheduled for release next year. "He was focused and so happy with the new album that we literally completed only a few days ago," said the singer in a tribute. "It's so sad as 2026 was all set to be such an uplifting year for him, and I take some solace from the fact that he heard the finished record and felt that it was a great piece of work."

Post any information and updates about them in this thread. https://www.cnn.com/2025/06/13/us/military-parade-protests-trump Millions of protesters are expected at ‘No Kings’ rallies nationwide as President Trump’s military parade takes place on his 79th birthday As a military parade rolls through Washington, DC, on Saturday – President Donald Trump’s birthday – millions of Americans are expected to protest in what organizers predict will be the strongest display of opposition to Trump’s administration since he took office in January. More than 2,000 protests across all 50 states are planned through the No Kings movement, which organizers say seeks to reject “authoritarianism, billionaire-first politics, and the militarization of our democracy.” The mobilization is a direct response to Trump’s military parade in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the US Army – which coincides with his 79th birthday. -
