  1. No, one member of Congress is not his boss and does not have the power alone to control his salary. Yes, the gifts have been listed previously in this thread and can also be found with a Google search if you wish.
  2. No, he didn't go to his boss and ask for a raise. He just complained to a member of Congress and following that he got the lavish gifts from wealthy donors who were afraid he would resign. I think to get a raise it would have to be approved by the Senate or however SCOTUS salaries are adjusted. And no, none of the other justices got a raise that I am aware of (unless it was the annual or scheduled cost-of-living increase).
  3. That didn't happen: https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/04/politics/fact-check-capitol-insurrection-january-6-lies/index.html Fact check: Five enduring lies about the Capitol insurrection Lie: The rioters were invited into the Capitol by police A common refrain from January 6 rioters, and some of their Republican defenders, is that they were welcomed into the Capitol by police officers. Trump said in a book interview in March that ā€œthe Capitol Police were ushering people inā€ and ā€œthe Capitol Police were very friendly. You know, they were hugging and kissing.ā€ The claim has been echoed by Trump supporters. For example, Trump-endorsed Republican Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake declared at a Trump rally in October that the people being held in jail over the Capitol attack ā€œwere invited in by Capitol Police.ā€ Facts First: The claim that the rioters were invited into the Capitol is false. Again, about 140 police officers were assaulted while trying to stop the mob from breaching the Capitol. There were hours-long battles between police and rioters near some entrances. CNN obtained footage from police body-worn cameras showing how dozens of officers engaged in hand-to-hand combat with rioters in a desperate effort to keep them out of the building. There are plenty of instances where rioters waltzed into the Capitol without a fight, but only after they had stormed past barricades and, in some cases, even stepped through broken windows. In some areas, police were so outnumbered by the mob that they retreated, stood aside or tried to politely engage with rioters to de-escalate the situation rather than fighting or making arrests, but that is clearly not the same as welcoming rioters into the building. Since we don’t have video of every single encounter between police and rioters, it’s theoretically possible that some tiny number of officers did invite rioters in. The Capitol Police announced in September that three officers were facing discipline for unspecified noncriminal ā€œconduct unbecomingā€ that day, while three others were facing discipline for other policy violations. But no evidence has publicly emerged to date of even one officer inviting a rioter into the Capitol. And even if a few isolated incidents emerge in the future, it’s clear that this was not a widespread or systemic occurrence as Trump and others suggested.

But they weren't attempting a coup. Big difference.

And it looks like their plans were just to protest (with a just a spritz of mild pepper spray)

    They're destroying our country

Not the fake story about the caravan again.
  9. Are you talking about Trump and the alleged "Pee Tapes?" I don't recall reports of Clinton peeing or crapping on Lewinsky. However, I am old enough remember when the guy whose handle rhymes with "Smells Poopy" had no problem with Trump walking unannounced into a dressing room where young girls of his daughter's age were undressing in a beauty pageant.

They were attempting to prevent the peaceful transfer of power, so Biden could not certified as the new POTUS. You must know that was their intent (verified by the actions and words of Trump and others).
  11. Saying he raped her suggests that, but she was of legal age and does not claim she was raped.
  12. The claim is that Democrats are the only ones engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct, but the truth is, if you want to examine things, there really is not much difference between the two parties as both have bad actors.

Context. Engaging in an attempted coup to overthrow the government is taken very seriously, as it should be, because the future democracy of this nation is at stake.

There were and lots of folks who participated were criminally charged, as been noted with links in this forum before.

All of them should have been and rightfully so, they all knew what they were doing was illegal (or should have known, which is why most have pled guilty or have been convicted in jury trials by their peers).

We don't know that really happened, just one account from the diary of a drug addict, who now doesn't swear that it's accurate.
  18. That was not planned, nor expected and was called out as being inappropriate by Biden and the organizers of the event.
  19. And Republicans do? Trump was caught bragging on Access Hollywood video about grabbing women's private parts ("and they let you do it") and walking unannounced into a room of 16 year old girls in a beauty pageant while they were dressing. Not to mention having sex with a porn star while Melania was pregnant (great self control shown there). And it's not just limited to the GOP men, Lauren Boebert got kicked out of ā€˜Beetlejuice’ for groping the crotch of her date.

Kyle Rittenhouse - Criminal or Hero?

He had killed someone who was unarmed with a gun and was then fleeing the scene of the crime - they were trying to apprehend him for authorities, they had a justified reason to pursue him (and if he was recently innocent he should have waited at the scene of the first killing for the police to arrive). And it wasn't proven that Floyd was passing bad money (he was suspected of that but that turned out not to be the case).
