No, he didn't go to his boss and ask for a raise. He just complained to a member of Congress and following that he got the lavish gifts from wealthy donors who were afraid he would resign. I think to get a raise it would have to be approved by the Senate or however SCOTUS salaries are adjusted. And no, none of the other justices got a raise that I am aware of (unless it was the annual or scheduled cost-of-living increase).

He had killed someone who was unarmed with a gun and was then fleeing the scene of the crime - they were trying to apprehend him for authorities, they had a justified reason to pursue him (and if he was recently innocent he should have waited at the scene of the first killing for the police to arrive).
