The books are all pretty good and don't have to be read in order. Haven't read the latest (saw it at the market) and didn't pick it up as the one before was not very good and the first I didn't really care for. (sorry can't remember the titles). Reacher had the potential of being a great movie franchise, but the 5-7 Tom Cruise was simply not believable as the 6-5, 220-to-250-pound Reacher. Alan Ritchson comes fairly close to how Reacher is portrayed in the books, but not as dark, cerebral and intimidating as I've pictured the character.
