No they aren't. Immigrants who are not US citizens can't vote (with the exception of local elections in some states).

And I think you are making an unwarranted assumption about Colbert being a "typical liberal" only concerned about himself (which really isn't typical of liberals as evidenced against the outcry against Trump's deportation policies).

I dunno, I don't think he'll go scorched earth but the gloves will be off and who knows, it may generate more interest in the show. His contract is guaranteed and CBS would have to come up with some replacement for that time slot, so unless they have already figured out the next step they will probably not be in any rush to pull the plug.
