That was guaranteed by the government to those who paid in - that was the promise.

DEI, yes, DEI Head of US military base in Greenland fired after JD Vance visit
squistion replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
This is archetypal MAGA thinking. That any woman in a leadership role has to be a DEI hire. No wonder with that type of logic, they actually believed Trump could bring grocery prices down. -
A helicopter crash left a Siemens executive, his family and their pilot dead
squistion replied to kilroy69's topic in The Geek Club
The rotor blades detached from the helicopter in mid-air. That is a mechanical failure not the fault of the pilot. -
Nope. I haven't reported anyone since I returned to this forum a couple years ago after a 17 year absence.

Man walks in on male prostitutes reading to kids
squistion replied to Frozenbeernuts's topic in The Geek Club
Parents who allow their children to attend a Drag Queen Story Hour at their local public library means that they are more likely to molest their own children? Really? -
DEI, yes, DEI Head of US military base in Greenland fired after JD Vance visit

Still no evidence offered that she was a DEI hire. -
DEI, yes, DEI Head of US military base in Greenland fired after JD Vance visit
squistion replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
Is there one shred of proof that she was a DEI hire outside of the assumption that she got that position because she is female? If not, then that part the OP should be deleted. -

https://x.com/DeanObeidallah/status/1910646825679270071 Pentagon fires Greenland base commander after she criticized JD Vance visit. Dissent is not permitted in the GOP's America. And to be clear this is NOT Trump's America, it's the GOP's. -

What has happened to this country? This is like the very worst of the McCarthy Era. Mahmood Khalil was charged with no crime, and is being deported because the Trump administration doesn't like his beliefs. The only argument that they have for deporting Mahmoud Khalil seems to be that he engaged in some sort of "thoughtcrime." -
Man walks in on male prostitutes reading to kids

Fun Fact: Although it is a bit odd IMO, being or dressing as a Drag Queen is not considered a mental illness, nor is it grounds for being committed to any mental institution in this country. -
Supreme Court repudiates Trump 9-0, says US must facillitate return of man wrongfully deported to El Salvador
squistion replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
https://x.com/kylegriffin1/status/1910719526766789090 Judge Xinis has denied DOJ's bid to postpone today's hearing on Kilmer Abrego Garcia, the Maryland man who the Trump admin claims was mistakenly deported to El Salvador. "Defendants' suggestion that they need time to meaningfully review a four-page Order ... blinks at reality." -
Judge sides with Trump: anyone in US illegally must register with fed government 🏆
squistion replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
From Reuters: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/judge-allows-trump-plan-requiring-registration-immigrants-us-illegally-2025-04-11/ Judge allows Trump plan requiring registration for immigrants in US illegally April 10 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge on Thursday allowed the Trump administration to go ahead with a plan to make immigrants illegally living in or entering the United States register with the federal government or face fines or imprisonment. [...] Nicholas Espiritu, deputy legal director at the National Immigration Law Center, which represents the plaintiffs, called the ruling "disappointing," and said it would "force people into an impossible choice between registering and risking immediate deportation, or refusing and facing penalties." Federal law has long required immigrants in the United States, including those in the country illegally, to register, but the requirement has not been consistently enforced. -

squistion replied to Frozenbeernuts's topic in The Geek Club
He labels a Drag Queen reading a children's story to kids in a public library as "filth" and should be banned. It is funny because the MAGA crowd keeps saying that Democrats and liberals are the ones against free speech. -
If so, another promise broken. Wouldn't we rather have undocumented workers file tax returns than not? https://x.com/kylegriffin1/status/1903790089664176553 The IRS is nearing an agreement to allow immigration officials to use tax data to confirm the names and addresses of people suspected of being in the country illegally. The IRS has for years reassured undocumented workers that their tax info is confidential and that it's safe to file returns without fear of deportation. ttps://washingtonpost.com/us-policy/2025/03/22/ice-irs-immigrants-deport/

Same principle and those rounded up on the handy dandy lists given by their employers will be for show too...film at eleven. -

Not at all after the IRS promised the undocumented that their tax information and identity would not be turned over to immigration officials. -

How convenient. So after their employer identifies and vouches for them, ICE rounds them up for deportation? -

squistion replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
No, unless we are to take the word of the solitor general here without question. Government officials (even the solicitor general) can make a mistake, and that is why we have due process for everyone in this country. Seriously, would we want anyone here deported to a foreign prison based on the word of some government official without giving them the right to dispute it in a court of law? SMH.
