Joe Biden’s State of the Union speech to Congress

Very little of that is true. Someone discovered my Twitter account and doxed me by posting a link to that, which I think most of you would agree is a violation of privacy. My Facebook page was then linked to by a poster whose handle appropriately rhymes with "Smells Poopy" and doing that was beyond the pale. I reported people over the doxing, but not for any of the pigeon avatars (I actually thought some of them were kinda cute). Most pigeon avatars were taken down voluntarily, only because the novelty wore off. None of the avatars were banned, although Beaver Cleaver was told by Joe to remove his, which he did. Pigeons or the talk of pigeons was never banned from FBG's.

No, but people who don't are often criticized and ostracized, similar to the reaction to those kneeling during The National Anthem. Although it is not forced, there is societal coercion to do so.

Is has been done in fascist and totalitarian countries, for instance "Sieg Heil" can be considered a pledge of allegiance.

Of course you don't. And I am supposed to earn the respect of someone with a "reasonable argument" after they have just called me the shortened form of "retarded" or an anti-gay slur rhyming with maggot? Yeah, right.

Not sure but I don't think so...it's possible...more likely I called a statement someone made fascist. And I am on record that I don't say the pledge of allegiance because I consider it fascist.

Fun Fact: Calling someone a racist or a bigot is not a considered "a crude middle school level insult."

No, not on public forums as a general rule (haven't used any here and can't remember the last time I did at FBGs).

You may say that, but given the crude middle school level insults and profanity constantly directed against Tim and I for our opinions, it is pretty obvious that many of you are easily offended.

Depends on what age group you consider kids. I would say at age18 as they are legally considered an adult in most jurisdictions. Kim Petras, the trans singer who just won a Grammy, had gender confirmation surgery in Germany at age 16, but had to get special permission to undergo the procedure and had the full support of both her parents as she was going through the process (and under those circumstances I am fine with that).

So I have noticed. And I have not said that anyone who uses these terms is a bigot or a racist (I certainly don't think Tim is for using what is still a common abbreviation for a transgender person). It is quite often just a matter of ignorance as far as what is considered PC and therefore currently acceptable for those who don't wish to offend others. By all means, continue to use those terms if it you makes you feel better, as they are allowed here (but you probably won't convince anyone who is undecided on any issue after using a pejorative term).

I was going to bring that up as being pejorative, but figured in a forum where a shortened form of "retarded" and a slur for gay men rhyming with "maggot" are both frequently used, it would probably be pointless to single out Tim on this.

That isn't true and it doesn't make sense they would make such an announcement with the lack of any complaints. https://globalnews.ca/news/7079596/uncle-bens-mrs-butterworth-aunt-jemima-cream-of-wheat/ Conagra Brands also pledged on Wednesday to conduct a “complete brand and package review” of Mrs. Butterworth, which packages its syrup in a bottle shaped like a matronly woman. Critics have long described the character as a “mammy” — a racial stereotype from the American South for a subservient Black woman.

That was how the bottle was perceived by some (rightfully or wrongfully) and it hasn't been suggested that is what liberals wanted to teach your kids.

From the above link: "While Mrs. Butterworth might give off granny vibes, many have criticized the bottle shape as reminiscent of the “mammy” stereotype. Some claim that the Mrs. Butterworth character is based on the actor Butterfly McQueen, best known for portraying Prissy in Gone with the Wind. However, there is no confirmation that McQueen or the mammy stereotype inspired Mrs. Butterworth’s bottle."

The bottle was "cancelled" but is still being sold in that same design. https://thedieline.com/blog/2022/9/6/conagra-brands-said-they-would-change-the-mrs-butterworths-bottle-so-what-happened? In July 2020, Conagra also announced it would conduct a brand review for Mrs. Butterworth’s, acknowledging that consumers could see the packaging, particularly its signature syrup bottle silhouette, as racist. However as of this date the results of the review have not been announced

No, I read that before I posted. He wasn't arrested for conduct during the riots and was bailed out on a non-violent indecent exposure case then later committed a violent crime. And I believe those who ran the fund have acknowledged that was a mistake given his arrest history.

Not, to my knowledge, of those who participated in the burning and looting. A person who received bail later committed a violent crime, but I believe that he was just among those arrested for peaceful protesting the George Floyd killing (not sure of all the details on this).

Perhaps because it appears that no one was injured or hurt, nor property destroyed in yesterday's Oklahoma protest unlike from the violent mob that entered the Capitol.

No, this has been discussed in another thread. The bail fund was meant for peaceful protesters who were arrested that couldn't afford bail, not for those who rioted and burned down buildings.

No, she didn't do that, but others have gotten similar or longer sentences who weren't "attacking people: and "breaking stuff" either.

No, it isn't exactly the same. She was encouraging those who were attacking people and destroying property to enter, not just chanting and then coming in.

The prosecutor felt "Hemphill's conduct at the Capitol put her case in a different category" and the judge apparently agreed.

I knew there had to bemore to it with Hemphill than simply "wandering around peacefully." https://www.ktvb.com/article/news/crime/boise-woman-sentenced-for-role-in-us-capitol-riot-pamela-hemphill-january-6-2021/277-3aa12194-5a54-4abe-88a2-d644cf5043aa Boise woman sentenced for role in U.S. Capitol riot [...] In Tuesday morning's sentencing hearing, the prosecutor said certain aspects of Hemphill's conduct at the Capitol put her case in a different category. Hemphill "repeatedly turned to police for help while simultaneously undermining their efforts" and bragged about the August 2020 incident in which a group of protestors broke a glass door at the Idaho State Capitol on the first day of a special session to address issues related to civil liability and elections during the COVID-19 pandemic. On January 6, "many protested without engaging the police," the prosecutor said. "This defendant did not choose to take things in from a distance." A crowd had gathered outside the Capitol to protest the counting of Electoral College votes for then-President-elect Joe Biden. Hemphill recorded video as many people moved closer to the building. A video the prosecution played in court contains audio of Hemphill telling a police officer, "I have to get out of that crowd," adding that she had surgery and was a journalist. The officer had her stand in a safer area. Moments later, Hemphill is heard saying to people in the crowd, "You just come in. That's all you do. This is your house, your house. Haven't you had enough with the (expletive)?" "These are not the actions of a citizen journalist. These are the actions of a rioter," the prosecutor said. [...]
