I was thinking the same when I sat him against Tampa who have the 4th ranked pass defense and, as you pointed out, he went 3/66/1. Calvin was quite productive when Dan Orlovsky was starting, and I felt uncertain when he went down and Culpepper took over... but Calvin has kept it up. He really shouldn't be putting up numbers like he has all year, but he has, I'm starting him. edit: figured I'd add this in... Stats with Orlovsky... 2/16/0 -stinker I know.. but I'm not sure... did Orlovsky play the whole game? or come in relief? 4/85/1 2/154/1 4/57/1 8/94/1

The **Official** Frank Gore Fantasy Owners Thread
ffsmack replied to KSB2424's topic in FFToday Board
My options are Pierre Thomas, Chester Taylor and Jon Stewart if Gore is out... I think I'm just gonna start Thomas tonight and hope it works out. -
I got a fever! And the only prescription... is more cowbell!
-
Marshall owner going up against Cutler, Royal and Scheffler... this should be interesting... oh and I'm a Denver homer too
-
Yup, dropped him last week after both BQ and DA went down... luckily I had a good WR draft after Braylon so I could afford to do so.
-
Oh thats right, I forgot it was the Thurs game... looks like I'll be playing him over Gore to be safe then
-
With Gore hurt, my options are PT and JStew... I'm leaning toward PT this week, but JStew against Denver is very tempting. If Gore plays, its gonna make the decision that much harder.

sigh... another one bites the dust, per rotoworld: Broncos placed RB Peyton Hillis on injured reserve with a torn hamstring, ending his season. He tore the hammy "a few inches off the bone," Mike Shanahan revealed, and faces eight weeks of recovery. Hillis won't need surgery. Hillis ends his rookie year with 5.0 YPC average on 68 carries, six TDs, and 14 catches. He has a nice outlook as a future utility man, but probably not as a pure tailback. While Hillis will be in the mix for short-yardage carries in a potential 2009 committee for Denver, teams don't usually "feature" backs with limited speed and moves. His long-term ceiling in dynasty leagues is low.

Tatum Bell, Selvin Young (if healthy) and PJ Pope... probably useless in fantasy
-
Lost the last couple weeks in close matches (Gore stinkers sure didn't help) and I am thinking about benching him this week. Tough matchup, and the Jets could easily put up a lot of points forcing the 9ers to abandon the run early, problem is I'm not sure how much better my other options are.

I hear ya, I need under 37... don't feel good after AJ's start
-
My pick was originally Hou -3 before today (no, I didn't post a pick), but for some reason I'm feeling Jax +145 now. No news or anything to change my mind, just a gut feeling. Also taking U48.
-
37 or under from AJ and Slaton, I feel cautiously optimistic... sure would have felt better if I had Berrian in last night
-
Anyone else thinking about starting both against the Lions? Hell, I may also be starting Berrian... how many Vikings are too many?
-
Don't forget that the Broncos were embarrassed last week by the lowly Raiders
-
Rotoworld says Nugent is inactive
-
The depth chart on their website has DJax and Bly on PR and Young and Hillis on KR if that helps any. I don't remember who got them earlier this year when Royal was out, sorry.

Lemme guess, this is a Disney kid...

Aww, I didn't even think about that. Bah, looks like I'll be watching the crappy feed from NFL.com then.

Only made 1 trade this season, record low! I gave Warner and MJD for Gore after Week 3 I think. Pretty good trade so far for both sides. She had Palmer and it probably saved her season. I've been rolling with Rodgers, not a huge step down, and Gore provides consistency to compliment AP's explosiveness. ...I may regret it down the stretch if MJD becomes a stud and Warner continues his MVP push.
-
Braylon Edwards on the bench... took him in the 2nd, Marshall in the 4th and Calvin in the 5th so both are starting over him just about every week.
-
For what its worth, Marshall totaled 11 catches for 149 yards and no scores in 2 games vs Oak in 2007.
-
I just couldn't pass these up, and they paid off. I even got +105 on Tenn -3
-
Not really an FU as he was my best performer, but I lost by 2 points, 2 points which Gore lost on that fumble in the 1st. Or maybe it was that missed FG from Prater.
