    Unreal Veto By Commish!

I have been trolled enough. Are you bored? Even if the trade were real - get over yourself, nobody cares.

    Commish Question

From our Constitution: Furthermore, if an Owner makes a mistake in an Add/Drop transaction (wrong player dropped or added), the Owner may appeal to the Commissioner for the transaction to be undone. This may occur under the following provisions: - the owner makes no subsequent transaction(s) after the FAAB run in question - a FAAB run has not occured where the dropped player has been picked up by another owner.

One more thread about Chris Johnson

A couple weeks ago, I gave Fitzpatrick and McCluster for CJ and McCoy. I thought I was raping him, quite frankly, and that CJ would turn it up, after the bye. He still could, I suppose.... Turn it up, that is...but I am seriously beginning to doubt. If he fails to do significant things versus Indy, you would have to think that his value has sunk to RB #3 levels....relative to Lynch, Starks, Tolbert, Stewart. He did get 100 yards there one time, and a game with a TD. As long as he's starting, I don't think he can get much lower than that.

    Johnson and Andre Johnson

Certainly not in Dynasty leagues, but in Seasonal Leagues, do you imagine that someone might lose patience and deal him for a decent price? With a nasty hamstring injury, would you want to make that move? Do you see him coming back anytime soon?

    Vent

Certainly this isn't AJ. Not anymore. Not next year either. AJ is great, no doubt. But he has fallen off his lofty perch due to injury, age perhaps, and other guys/offenses catching up. Next year, MEGA will be the clear cut #1, barring something catastrophic.

    D-Bag Move... with a Twist

As a Commish, I have no problems with Owners having an illegal roster throughout the week. Furthermore, guys can wait until the last minute to dump players and legalize - that's good strategy. Our league constitution forbids Waiver churning, but cutting off one or two good defenses or kickers with good match-ups would not likely be questioned. That again, would be good strategy. Systematically cutting off all FA's with a long string of add/drops? I would let the other Owner select whichever FA D/ST or K he wanted to correct for this nonsense. Be strategic, not a douche.

What to look for in a fantasy league

Though I think it impossible to account for every contingency with bylaws, I think it possible to account for perhaps 98% of the scenarios you might encounter in Fantasy play. The key is to get a solid set of by-laws and continually upgrade and improve them as your League carries on, year to year. A rules discussion in the hour before a live draft is a great time to talk about concerns, scoring adjustments, roster issues and so forth. Make sure that each Owner has a (brief) chance to air his or her concerns. But also, moderate the discussion in a semi-serious way so it does not get bogged down or become ridiculous with petty or ignorant banter. Some guys are always questioning the entire make-up of the league - questioning foundational rules instead of finer points - don't let this happen. Sometimes I end up saying "well, that's the League you joined" when they question things like PPR, or the lack of points for rushing attempts. Keep it short, to the point, and lively. Use a marker and a white board, if a number of issues come up. On contentious issues, VOTE. Then, post any changes to the League as soon as you can, so everyone remembers. This should certainly include your prize breakdown.

    Commish question

From our League Constitution: c) LINE-UPS: The Commissioner reserves the right to insert a viable, legal starting lineup for an Owner, should said Owner(s) ignore situational mandates, or attempt to deliberately operate with an illegal lineup. Intentional throwing of games in this manner, for manipulation of positional standing, is not allowed. Thus, seriously injured players (IR, PUP, Suspended or ruled as 'OUT' prior to gameday) or players on a bye, may not be placed in starting line-ups for the purposes of self-sabotage, relative to the limit of eligible players on a given roster.

    Sportsline problems?

Just highlight the players yourself, and use Commish privileges to Execute Trade. Then, Reject the pending offer. I just did the exact thing.

    5-0 Teams check in please

My Keeper and Dynasty squads I would have said are stronger than my ReDraft team (Both are 4-1). But the ReDraft team is undefeated: Romo/Cutler McFad/Forte (trade)/CJ (trade)/Lynch/M. Bush MEGA/Harvin/Cruz/Manningham/Nate Graham (trade)/Cook rotating K and D Hoping CJ gets it going after the bye. My worst team is in a start-up Dynasty, 3-2, fighting off the 5-0 Futha Mucka !

    Good Ol' Days

It's tough to govern one's insight in this regard, because there is always a sense that the future holds something less than the past. This has to do with a lot of things - our sense of nostalgia, our perception of the passage of time, the lamentation over the loss of youth. But yeah, I would agree that the game is evolving quickly, and not necessarily for the better. My largest concern is that the game is growing softer, ultra-protective and the toughness is almost all gone.

    Recent Trade

Though MFM, above, has a valid point, others above make a valid compromise. Simply divide it into two trades. VJax for CJ post week 5, and the Owners have thus committed to it, regardless of scoring outcomes or injury from Week 5 itself. No big deal.

Is it time to trade CJ2K?

I got one of them feelins' that CJ is gonna get nothing but stronger after the bye. Teams are gonna scheme for Hasselbeck and all that passing, and CJ is gonna get bigger. Buy low.
  14. Evil Genius

Has anybody tried to buy low on Chris Johnson yet?

Yes, CJ and Colt McCoy for FitzP and ClusterFuck
  15. Evil Genius

Has anybody tried to buy low on Chris Johnson yet?

I just got CJ and Colt McCoy for Fitzpatrick and McCluster. He needed a WR with Britt down, and could use a #2 QB in our league, where you can FLEX one. I needed a #2 RB behind McFadden, where I've been starting Benson...whereupon he has a suspension looming and more or less stinks. I have Romo as my #1 QB. If CJ does better in wake of the Britt injury, I think I make out okay. If CJ turns back into himself, and the Bills come back down to earth - I made out like a

Jerry Rice - that great oroverrated?

Rice is the greatest of all time...for every reason: His team, his work ethic, his genetics, his QB, the West Coast offense, his longevity, luck. It takes a perfect storm to make a Jerry Rice. And that's what happened. Anybody who thinks Rice isn't the greatest of all time, has no friggin clue about greatness. Or is just young, stupid and ignorant.

    Unusual Draft Order

I want to draft 7th. The first two rounds are like any other draft. Then, I get 3.01. Last in the fourth - ah well, I lose a little from 4.07 to 4.14, but not as much as I think I gain from 3.01 Then, the next two rounds, back to regular, with 5.07 to follow 4.14. Seventh.

    5 Bold Predictions

That is actually going to happen. But if you play in a League with Futher Mucker, he sets up the scoring for defenses so crappy that it doesn't mean pi$$ all. 1) Vick starts all 16 games 2) Lions not only make the playoffs at 10-6, but they win a game. 3) Vincent Jackson finishes as the top Fantasy WR 4) Lee Evans get as good as 70-1000-7 or better 5) Dallas wins the Superbowl, knocking off the Pack to get there.

Would fantasy football be even more popular if...

A few suggestions for alternate names: Roto Football (it isn't, but sounds manly), Rotoball Double F E-Football, E-ball, V-ball (for virtual) Big Ball (need I say anything?) F-Pool Or, have the freedom to take away the word 'football' and you have lots of room to make stuff up. There is a loose connection - but it's like how Ultimate takes out the word Frisbee, and sounds so much tougher. Gridiron ("Yeah, I play Gridiron, for kicks") Drafter, SuperDraft Total, Total Football, TF Clan, Clanball Leagueball, F-League, V-league Shadowball, Shadow-league, Shadow Parallel Plane Football, 'Parallel', Double P Alternate Dimension Football, ADF Infinite Earths, IEF Laserball Big 12 (Big 10) (Big 14)
