  1. if I had to rank 1-10, seeing I have more time on my hands now than when I posted before, I'd rank them as such (naturally, moving around a spot or so is normal depending on person to person's opinions)

    LT

    LJ

    S. Jax

    Gore

    Henry

    Westy

    Addai

    Rudi

    FWP

    Maroney

    **Notable exclusions

    Alexander (still has foot troubles?)

    R. Bush (splits time, plus he's small, so that reeks of "blown ACL")

    D. McCallister (splits time)

    W. McGahee (new team that has a suspect at best O-Line)

    A. Green (new team that isn't exactly known for having a good O-Line)

    C. Portis (recently has been injury prone, plus the Redskins kinda suck, and he'll be splitting carries)

I just think that the excluded ones have too many things going against them to be considered a safe "top 10" back. Also, feel free to move around some backs in my list, but as it stands now, that's how I'd rank them. I have yet to see any pre-season games/ training camp results to lock them in stone, so just like power rankings of teams, this is all pre-mature speculation.

Reggie Bush is small, so that reeks of blown ACL?

Wow, that makes so much sense.

Tiki Barber had chronic blown ACL's since he was so small.

    So did Barry Sanders.

Oh and Jamal Lewis tore his ACL because he was small right?

What about Deuce? He tore his ACL, yeah he is very small.

And Terrell Davis, Gee, he was tiny.

You make some really great points.

  2. I hope you are not letting your entire league know about your Meachem man luv.

    Man love...yeah.

I'm not even in a "dynasty" league.

Just giving my personal opinion between Bowe and Meachem.

I'm a fan of both, honestly. I've watched Bowe for years at LSU, and now I get to root for Meachem since he was drafted by my Saints.

So no bias, man love, or whatever else you would like to call it over here---just an honest opinion.

  3. "I think the rookie who's made the worst first impression in the three weeks since draft day, easily, is New Orleans wide receiver Robert Meachem. How on God's green earth can a rook be 19 pounds overweight at the team's first mini-camp? And what kinds of red flags must that send up to the coaching staff and front office about to make the man a jillionaire? "I think I had like nine [pre-draft] visits to teams,'' Meachem said after injuring an ankle at the Saints' minicamp last week. "And every visit they gave you a big old meal. I tried to work out when I could, but I don't think I got enough workouts in.''

hmm...care to re-evaluate your stance here? go ahead, i'll let you

    Sure.

Colston was extremely out of shape last year at the rookie mini-camp, as well.

    That sure turned out horribly.

Care to re-evaluate your stance? I'll let you.

  4. There just aren't many 1-2 punches in the NFL where both guys are worth a #1 WR spot on a Fantasy team. Colston is already the #1 guy for the Saints. Bowe could be the guy for KC. Do you think Meachem will be the top WR in New Orleans?

In short, yes I do think that Meachem will be the #1. Maybe not this year, but for a Dynasty league draft, then yes.

Colston, as great as he was, still is no where near as talented as Meachem.

Yes it still has to translate onto the field for Meachem, but I think he is in a perfect situation.

The Saints offense is going to be on par with Indy fairly soon, and you are going to want to get in on that situation now, if you are in a dynasty league.

And yes, Saints homer here, but that's just the way I see it.

  5. I'm curious as to why everyone seems to like Bowe over Meachem?

Seems like just because he was picked higher? I don't know.

    Meachem has the better QB.

Meachem has the better offensive minded coach.

Meachem has the higher powered offense.

The Saints are on the rise, while the Chiefs are on the decline.

Yes Bowe might have less people to share balls with, but you can counter that with Meachem isn't going to be going up against #1 corners all year.

And yes Meachem will start opening day. No competition. Devery might not even make the team, and Terrance Copper, well he is Terrance Copper.

Colston and Meachem are locks to start.

  6. Personally, I like Robert Meachem's chances more than Dwayne Bowe, but Bowe will still be a good player.

For one, Meachem seems like a faster version of Bowe.

Add that with the fact that KC seems on the decline, as to New Orleans who looks to have a dominate offense for years.

  7.

I think Robert Meachem is going to have somewhat instant success.

He is going to be starting opposite Colston, day 1. He will beat out Devery and Copper, hands down, for that number 2 slot.

Plus, Colston is going to demand most of the double teams.

I could honestly see Meachem and Colston having very similar numbers this year, with Meachem taking over that number 1 slot, very soon.

I know that its way too early to tell for sure, but just off of potential alone, along with that great offense, I think Meachem can be a steal.
