  1. last week team A traded j. flacco to team B for m. crosby.

as it turns out the team that received flacco would have been without a qb, and would have lost if not for receiving flacco in the trade.

now 1 week later they want to make the same trade....in reverse.

    this is collusion, correct?

Yes, this is the definition of collusion!!! However the real question is who the @#$% trades for a kicker?!?! :first:

  2. This is my first year in a CBS league, and I'm wondering if some shenanigans are going on. Wondering if somebody more experienced with CBS leagues could help tell me what's going on. Last night waivers were executed in our work $$$ league, and a player in our league dropped Tynes. I know he's a kicker but he's currently #1 K in our league and I need one pretty badly. Well, I just got an email saying our commissioner dropped his kicker and picked Tynes up, even though all other players dropped last night show that they won't clear waivers until NEXT THURSDAY. I checked our leagues transaction log and although we all got an email about it, the waiver pickup is absent from the log. Last night, commish had Gould. Right now, he has Tynes.

So, my first question is...in a CBS league, would the commissioner have to purposely override the wait for him to pick up this kicker less than 24 hours after he was dropped? Secondly, any idea why we all got an email about the Tynes pick-up but it wouldn't show up in the transaction log? I was thinking that maybe rather than claiming Tynes off waivers, he just edited his roster, but that wouldn't have kicked out an email. So, he must have overrode the waiver pick up and then manually removed the transaction.

I want to believe that it's just an accident. But, I hate not playing on an even playing field. Especially if it's a money league.

    Thanks--

    Phlebber

As a CBS commish as well this guy flat out cheated, :headbanger: I would bring it up to all the league owners and take a vote to replace him. :overhead:

  3. I was set to take MJD at #2 in our non-ppr league and took Turner; I had MJD in my sights but couldn't pull the trigger. I realize the upside without Taylor, offensive line being healthy, etc. but I just couldn't do it. The Jags claim to have upgraded their line through the draft but... Who do they have to throw to? MJD could have a spy on him all year, I did have him last year and he had his moments but he also disappointed at times. Pick whomever your gut tells you and live with it, don't forget there's a TON of luck involved here also,,,, Good Luck!

  4. Just like Tennis said, I wonder how many people benched him against Tampa just to watch him go off? Yes the Giants are a good defense, but when they're on the field for lond drives they will wear down, especially this time of year. When they're tired is when Williams will find a seam and break a long one for a TD, my opinion, he's too good to sit. If he's gotten you to the chamionship why not ride him 'till the end? I will be....

  5. :shocking:

Despite the actual meaning of the nickname,I've been to the stadium about 12xs and it sits right ontop a great lake. Let me tell you, it's windy especially during this time of the year.

The wind shouldn't be a problem tomorrow night, unless it's 20+MPH I wouldn't worry about it. Since they built that spaceship inside the old Soldier Field I don't think it's quite as bad as in years past.

With the recent problems surrounding Gov. Blago  and the ties to Obamas pals you see why Chi-town is the windy city, and it's not the weather!!! :D

  6. What about starting Orton? Do you think he can have some success? Possibly 2-3 TD's and yards? I want to start him against a beat up NO secondary but need some affirmation from a Bears fan fan who has seen him play this year.

Orton is servicable but I see him handing off to Forte all night, he could toss a TD or 2 but I'm not sure about the yards. The Bears don't have a legit #1 (or #2 for that matter) receiver and they drop a ton of very catchable balls too.

    Do you have other options?

  7. that cold weather is brutal for passing....i have a feeling saints are gonna lean on p. thomas to pound the balll...JMO

    i would go with cutler....

    please see mine...

    http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=335757

How is the cold weather brutal for passing? Brees has played in the cold in college and the pros, the only way the weather has an influence on this game is if the wind is blowing 20+ MPH, start him and don't look back.

I'm a Bears homer and their defense is not good, they look good against bad teams.

  8. This may sound crazy, but I'm really considering starting Thigpen over Brees next week. Bears D is looking scary again, and the forecast says it might be 5 degrees with the wind chill. Not exactly dome-team friendly...

I really don't want to sit a stud for a playoff game, but this matchup screams BENCH! Anyone else drinking my kool-aid? If so, who you replacing Brees with?

Bears homer here, I think it's a HUGE mistake not to start Brees. The Bears have looked good against St. Louis & Jacksonville recently :( . Look what the Packers and Vikings did to them, they're not as good as everyone thinks, this stigma about the Bears D is strange as I've seen every play, every game. Early in the year they could have put a few wins together and got on a roll, but they let Brain Griese shred them, and they let Delhomme and Carolina come back and beat them.

Start Brees with confidence, cold weather doesn't mean a thing, -20 maybe but it's not supposed to be that bad Thursday. The ONLY way you don't start him is if the wind is blowing 20+ MPH.

    Good luck!!!

  9. What are your expectations for tonight against a tough Tampa D? He's been on fire recently but the Bucs D is good, game time temperature to be mid 30's and dropping, can that help Carolina? Tampa has been historically so-so in cold weather games. I need him to come through big time tonight

  10. The naysayers have been down on DeAngelo all year but he's proved them wrong again and again. Also, TB's run D, while very stout, isn't invincible. Look at what Jamaal Charles and Kolby Smith did a few games back. And De is a shifty, fast sort of runner. I think that he'll be a fine start, though don't expect 4 TDs. I say 60 yards and 1 TD.

MJD faces a tough (6th ranked) Bears run D in Chicago, which will be a freezing 26 deg. at game time. The Jax O-line is a shambles; Jax can only run on the worst run D's it seems this year. And I don't like warm weather teams in cold climes. Avoid.

Morris. Sweet match up means likely TD and might get some mop up running time with Hasselbeck just declared doubtful.

Bucky. Too dinged up and don't like the match up.

Addai has a sweet match up but is so untrustworthy -- he's now on the injured report. Will he play the entire game? Will be be effective? Will Rhodes get the goal line carries? Too many question marks for this time of year.

So I say DeAngelo and Morris.

Thanks man, I was thinking the exact same thing!! :pointstosky:

  11.

A giant focking poosay this waste will never be on any of my teams ever again

I hear ya, I just read that if he finishes strong this year he'll be projected as a top 5 back next year!! Not on my team he won't, this is the typicle senario of a guy gets paid and plays soft.... :pointstosky:

  12. OK, I know this is a reach, but any chance this guy has a good game this week?

Had 9 targets last week, and Seattle should be behind and throwing most of the game.

Then add to that he's playing his former team that didn't exactly treat him great on the way out so he might be looking to stick it to them.

I'm desperate with Santonio Holmes & Domenik Hixon as my other options with horrid weather condions for passing in their games.

    Branch is on waivers...

Has-a-back is doubtfull now, don't count on the great Seneca Wallace chucking the pigskin this week...

  13. Joseph Addai was a late addition to the Colts' injury report for Week 14. He is listed as questionable with a knee injury.

Addai was "limited" in Friday's practice, though, and that he did some drills is promising. It's possible that the Colts only put him on the injury report as a precaution, and Indianapolis regularly lists players as "questionable" rather than probable even when they are expected to play. Still, Addai owners will need to have Dominic Rhodes ready and check the early inactives on Sunday. The Colts host Cincinnati in a 1:00PM ET game.

Having never owned this guy before I drafted him at the #5 slot and have regreted it ever since, never again!!! WTF!!! Here's the stretch of games you'd think he'd do well and he's hurt? How can he get hurt when all he does is fall down at first contact?

Must have gotten his period and it's a heavy one this month!!! :pointstosky:

Watch the Addai owners with other options bench his sorry a$$ and he'll go off this week....

  14. Hey guys, I need a win to get into the playoffs, and I'm having trouble figuring out who to start.

    QB's (Pick 1):

    Tyler Thigpen (Denver)

    or

    Chad Pennington (Buffalo)

    RB's (Pick 2):

    Frank Gore (Jets)

    Steve Slaton (Green Bay)

    Joeseph Addai (Cincinati)

    WR's (Pick 3):

    Andre Johnson (Green Bay)

    Reggie Wayne (Cinci)

    Brandon Marshall (KC)

    Lee Evans (Miami)

Normally I'd play my first 3 wide outs but Lee Evans is usually awesome against Miami so I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated and drop a link and I'll be sure to help out! Thanks!!

    Thigpen

    Slaton

Addai- I also have him and reluctantly will be starting him!!!

    Johnson

    Wayne

    Marshall

    Good Luck!!!

  15. He had one off week, and he is now a sell? They will be throwing all year. A throwing team is where I want my receivers.

Robertd52, please come join our league and after 3 weeks you can drop all the players you want on speculation of this and that. The Lions suck, they'll be down early and often and will HAVE TO PASS, early in games the numbers might not be so good but in garbage time rack 'em up!!! Just like JG says...

This goes to all the guys who also said it's time to sit Addai and MJD last week, how did they do???

    PANICK CITY!!!!

  16. ok just because you have sproles and your anxious to see what happens that means you can decifer what THERE SAYING??

still nowhere but on here have i heard thats he doubtful? every other site ive been to doesnt have his as doubtful......

I don't take what they're saying on a Friday morning, or late Thursday for that matter with a grain of salt. Not only Rotoworld but ALL sites have guys who will speculate who's not playing and why and be dead wrong about it.

FWIW I didn't say he was doubtful, just trying to figure this out as you are... I just happen to have one of his backups :bandana:

  17. I like Morris a little more that Rasta Rickey. Help me out please... I need two of these guys....

Addai, MJG, DeA Williams, Ray Rice, or Sproles? If Tomlinson isn't playing Sproles is in, but the others have tough matchups or aren't going to carry the load. Thanks...

  18. where on rotoworld does it say doubtful???

    LaDainian Tomlinson-RB- Chargers Sep. 12 - 12:46 pm et

LaDainian Tomlinson (toe) says he will practice on Friday.

We'll see. "I'm all right," he promised. "It's just a sprained toe, that's all. But you try and get as much rest as you can and you have to take it. It's the heat of the season -- you don't really have time. You got games; it's not preseason any more. On Sunday, I think I should be pretty good."

    Source: Associated Press

Although the word "doubtful" isn't used here's what they're saying... * LaDainian Tomlinson tried to brush off concerns about his toe injury earlier this week, but it's definitely a major issue now that he's missed two straight practices. Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that Tomlinson is legitimately in danger of missing Week 2, which makes grabbing backup Darren Sproles an even better idea than usual for his owners. Check back on his injury report status Friday.

I have Sproles and I'm just as anxious to see what happens...

  19. you guys are so funny sometimes. I'm literally laughing because of how quickly you give up on studs before they ever even see a regular season snap....hahaha. I assume Portis is allready a bust too huh? damn how did he not get into the end zone.....time to trade him for a top tier TE. Good luck this year guys

Well said, go ahead and trade him if you don't think he can handle running and catching the ball. I don't believe for a minute that Rhodes is going to get half the carries, he won't produce like Addai.

I read that Addai worked all off season on conditioning so he wouldn't get run down toward years end, only time will tell.
