Got Ryan Mathews end of the 4th

He is on my DND list. He just can never stay on the field for very long. He's already missing 2-3 games. Add another 2-3 sometime later in the season. Just my two pennies

    My RBs are awful...

That's pretty bad. You must have done well in other areas. What does the rest of your team look like? Just my two pennies
  3. It seems like you get the bottom of the barrel for any position. Top 5 QBs are gone, top 3 RBs and top 3 WRs are gone. Starting with scraps in comparison to teams picking before you and it's a long way back. Just curious. Just my two pennies

    Any concerns with Rodgers?

I know Benson is OK at best, but he is the best they've had in the Rodgers era. Any concerns Rodgers and the Packers look to run close to the end zone and lessen Rodgers numbers?

Who is this Year's MAJOR Sleeper

Be careful with Ridley. Very good runner, but he does put the ball down. That is a no no in coach Bellyaches system.

    Chris Johnson

I too was high on him as a bounceback year, but there is just something missing. I can't take another series of games where he goes 20 carries for 43 yards week after week.

    Undervalued RB's

I'm staying away from MJD. Been burned too often with holdouts. The other problem with a RB holdout other than not knowing new plays is that they are babied the first few weeks until they get into football shape. Coaches ease them back in. No way does MJD come out and get 25 touches week 1 without a camp. They are also more apt to have nagging injuries like hammy's. It will be tough to pass on his talent, but history has shown they are not worth it.

    bye weeks and the draft

I never look at bye weeks on draft night. Not even for backup QBs or any other dual roster spot. I figure that by the time it may be an issue I'll deal with it then. Most likely by the middle of the season my team is differant than the team I drafted. I also don't mind having a good portion of my team with the same bye. I'd rather lose the week, but be close to 100% for most of the season than be working at 80% for multiple weeks. Just my two pennies
  9. I'm figuring Foster, McCoy and Rice are gone. I am not a huge fan of drafting a QB that high. The quality of RBs that I think will come back to me is really scary bad. I've been thinking of CJIII there with a bounceback year (no holdout and not fat). Non-PPR league. The safe pick seems to be Rodgers, but I look to take 30% off of last years numbers. I have found that when players have an off the charts season compared to their norm, the next year really reflects that. Brady, Manning, LT2, LJ and even Alexander were never able to approach their record setting years. I down grade Mega as well by 30%. I also think I can still get a quality QB in round 2. Any suggestions?
  10. You can make a case that Charles was isolated. Run DMC has been injured every year. No reason that this year he sneezes and misses 8 games. I would roll the dice with Charles, but McFadden ... beware.

What are people doing at the dreaded 4 spot?

You make a very good point that I never considered. I am at a disadvantage at RB. If I take CJ3 and get a lower high level QB, I am now at a disadvantage to those picking after me in 2 positions. I got so hung up on discounting Rodgers' last year that I did not think it all the way through. I tend to handicap the draft like horse racing. When a horse is running speed Beyers consistently then explodes much like Rodgers and Mega, they tend to bounce the next time out and revert back to their normal form. Obviously, there are exceptions and the fact that Rodgers only has 4 years under his belt, he may be still improving. I've been torturing myself with this craziness since 2005. It doesn't ever get any easier.

What Was Your Best Trade/Pickup Of The Year?

Waiver - Spent money on Cam. Spent money on Gronk (TE not a dedicated position). Not trading Foster for CJIII early in the year.

SB in week 17, who will probably sit?

We all know that teams rest or limit their offensive starters when there is nothing to play for, but do teams rest their defensive guys? I have the Falcons defense against Tampa or Ravens against Cincy. Most likely will go with Falcons because the Ravens have been disappointing lately. Week 17 does matter for some of us. Our Super Bowl was week 16 like most, however, we have a big cumulative prize that runs through week 17. Input on resting defensive players would be greatly appreaciated. Just my two pennies

    Marion Barber

It's him or The Glass Man McFadden. I heard he clipped a nail so he's out another 3 weeks.
  15. steel827

    Worth holding McFadden?

Great question. If there is something better then it may be wise to cut bait. Frustrating because it's never really been disclosed as to what his injury was. He killed my team this year. Even if/when he does come back what will be his production?

Big Ben is the Toughest SOB on earth

Not nice to call his Mother a b!tch. Maybe he'll be inspiration for McFadden. I heard he clipped his nails and is out another 2 weeks. Just my two pennies

For those of us OUT of the playoffs...

I am enjoying watching December football for entertainment rather than anxiety. I'll get my season over with and go with McFadden again.
  18. steel827

What was your draft approach this year? Did it pan out?

I was extremely successful with my draft. I targeted players that were either hurt or would miss significant time due to injury. McFadden, SJax, PManning (draft was before we knew he was out for the year), Moreno, LMoore, Floyd, RJennings (lost power for 3 days because of the hurricane, did not know he was on crutches when I drafted him). Dismal season and missed the playoffs. Mission accomplished. Only some 275 days until draft day.
  19. Didn't see him mentioned ... Eddie George

    Anyone pulling for Tebow

I'm sure Florida State wishes they had him. They would have won many more games. He went to Florida.
  21. steel827

Top RB for week 11 - guaranteed

This is stupid. All this in one half of football??? Maybe by the end of the third, but not by halftime.
  22. steel827

How do you beat the broncos.....easy

This is a tricky game for the Jets. Coming off a bad Sunday nighter and now have a short week to scheme against a weird team. I think Denver will throw a little bit more to keep the Jets off balance. I think Fox's comments about Tebow is calculated. Maybe lure them into thinking they will run another 55 times. Say what you will about Tebow, but he has won 3 of their last 4. Just crazy winning with just 2 completions.

    Foster and Tate and Daniels

I've started both Foster and Tate the last 2 weeks and will continue to do so. With Schaub out, they will lean even more on the running game and will give Foster more breathers. Expect Tate to get 8-13 touches per week and Foster to get his normal workload. Unless you have a better alternative than Tate start him with confidence.

several people complaining in my league

Trades are fair. If the team you are trading with is still alive for the playoffs then it's fine. When healthy (and that's a big when) McFadden is a top 3 RB. Washington is useless and Jennings is a top WR, but the way Rodgers gets everybody involved everybody gets a little but nobody gets a lot.
  25. steel827

    Can you veto "Stupid"?

Exactly. I looked at this and couldn't figure out who got the better of the deal. This is what a trade should be like.
