Does Nnamdi deserve the same respect as Revis?
Natetradomus replied to Boilermaker04's topic in FFToday Board
Not sure about better, but he belongs in the conversation. I definitely believe in the east coast bias crap. I'm a bay area homer and saw it first hand when i traveled to NY. They are pretty much all oblivious to anything west coast sports related. -
Who performs more consistently this season? Fitz looked good and ended 2010 well. Eli is too erratic but has big games. Who do you like more this season? I have eli but might drop him for Fitz this week while he is still there. Probably the last hour or so I have until i go out of town with no internet. Any help be great!!

I think Champ Bailey is dealing with a hamstring.

My list of worthless players taking up roster space: Ochostinko - bottom of pecking order in a balanced offense. TEs are go to WR. Devone Bess - Bush taking all his targets. Worthless. BenJarvis - Not worth his ADP. Woodhead with more carries! S.Greene - Wouldn't be surprised if he gets traded in a year or two. This guy won't ever live up to his hype. LT is better at 32 as someone said.

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins

Bess seems worthless this year. I think Bush is gonna take all his targets. -
In order of preference by position: WR: Greg Little Brandon Gibson Denarious Moore I like Little the most here because of what I already know about him prior to the nfl. Not sure if Gibson's toe injury will become a factor and Moore is on the raiders who have the worst qb of the bunch. I think all are worth a roster spot. TE: Cook Kendricks I'll take someone on the rise who has been in the league over a rookie, although I expect them to post similar numbers. Cook is probably not available in most leagues as well; however, Kendricks will be on a team who will air it out more. 525 attempts by Bradford at the very least this season. RB: Kendal Hunter Delone Carter These can both be some great sleepers/steals due to the injury prone backs in front of them. Hunter looked amazing in the pre-season and Colts without Manning will pound the ball on the ground. Thoughts??

If this guy wasn't injury prone he coulda been easily a top 10 back of all time.

I'm in 3 leagues this year and each one he slipped - once to me at 8, once at 10 and once at 11. For those who drafted already (my drafts were all last Sunday), did drafting him really make the steal of the draft and put your team over the edge? For those who passed on him, who did you take and did it change any draft strategy at all? For me, I have trade bait now since I had to get an extra running back early. Blount actually slipped to me and is my 3rd RB and I was worried that he would miss 2 -6 games ala Emmitt Smith or Vincent Jackson. Now that he has agreed to terms, I think I'm definitely a top 3 team in a competitive league. The teams in the other two leagues with him look pretty scary now.

Got Pettigrew in the 10th in one league, and Marcedes Lewis in the last round in one league. Both leagues are 12 standard scoring. My final league I had to go with vernon davis. He slipped really far and couldn't pass it up, otherwise i usually wait for TE. It's pretty deep and the difference after the top 3 isn't too far off.

WR Sleepers - Lots of promise this yr
Natetradomus replied to Young_Grasshopper's topic in FFToday Board
Yea for the first time I sorta used this strat. Seemed to be a lot of good value for potential #2 WR. I drafted an elite WR early then loaded up on a couple from your list in the late rounds. I figure if I could get a top TE who produces like a WR2, then maybe find gold with a sleeper ala your list then perfect. -
Lol you guys think Palmer will actually play because he is reporting are crazy. He's doing it to stick it to them and get his 11.5 mil. He gonna report and play madden 12 on his ipad sidelines.
-
That would be sweet wouldn't it lol. I'm sure a lot of athletes do that with "injuries" anyhow. He's been a cool cat most part of his career, he should stick it to them and just milk it if they won't trade him. The niners will give you crabcakes and a draft pick C'mon!!!! Throw in alexia smith for free to "mentor" dalton =D

Brandon Gibson this years Brandon Lloyd?

I agree. Not sure about MSW. That guy will give you 10 points one week and won't have any catches another week. -
Winning a league drafting a QB later than round 8 possible?
Natetradomus posted a topic in FFToday Board
Do you think it's possible to have a good fantasy season drafting a QB in round 8 or 9? I normally like to draft a QB by round 5 at the latest. My best fantasy teams have always won with an elite QB - either Brady, P Manning twice and a combo of Eli/Big Ben one year. This season, I'm beginning to wonder if maybe I should wait for Stafford and Bradford in rounds 8 and 9. That seems to be where they are falling and mostly as backups. The top QBs this season sorta worry me but not as much as the top rb obviously. With Peyton, you have his neck injury. While he is iron man, you just can't control injuries and he already has a serious one. Vick - you really don't know if he is gonna be healthy and puts a lot of burden on drafting a good backup. Also, you have to draft him pretty high, no later than 2 if you're lucky. Now lower tier top QB, such as Romo and Schuab or M. Ryan can be had late 4th or 5th, but there is also good value at other positions still. My theory so far looking at mocks, is that Stafford and Bradford will not be too far off from a Matt Ryan total numbers. Obviously if Brady falls in the 3rd or Rodgers late in the 2nd and grab them, but chances are you'll be spending a high pick on a top qb when you can be filling in other spots. Thoughts? -

Anyone ever try to cockblock the league and draft two top qbs for tradebait? Curious thats all. I've never done it and doubt I will unless people slipped a bit. -
Tell me why Stevie Johnson won't at least repeat
Natetradomus replied to da_mane_man's topic in FFToday Board
He declined towards the end of last season if im mistaken. He probably remembered who he was. -
This guy is the new Fred Taylor
-
Fantasy wise this is very interesting though to see where Manning slips. If he is on the PUP list, that's 6 games. Where does he fall then? Round 4 or 5? I mean he is still Peyton freaking Manning.
-
I don't follow the Colts much, but I know Collie is pretty good. He's better than anything the niners have anyway if he stays healthy. As far as Manning goes, the guy is what 35 now? Shouldn't they have been looking or a backup a year or two ago? Maybe they'll look into trading for Carson Palmer while they are still contending.
-
He just signed a new contract if im not mistaken, chances are his production slips a bit. Plus, who knows who the qb is there.
-
Anyone excited about the niners chances this season? Any record predictions - 7-9 or 8-8 if we're lucky perhaps?

Yea standard leagues with 6 points per td. I guess it's like any other position where you can find waiver wire gold, ala vick or orton. In terms of just drafting though, I'm really starting to think it's best not to get a top elite qb. The advantage is of a top qb is that you know in advance you don't really need a backup, unless you have someone like Vick who is always injured, chances are you could find someone on the waivers for bye weeks. Someone drafted late will make you hold on to a backup qb for a few weeks until you can see if he is gold or not. -
Why is Frank Gore ranked so low?
Natetradomus replied to wild_and_crazy_guy's topic in FFToday Board
He's healthy. He is reasonably young, however he is getting closer to that oh so dreaded 30. He's been a workhorse most of his career so that 28 is older than it sounds. These aren't the reasons I think he is drafted in round 2. His O-line sucks. Maybe it's improved but it still sucks. His team sucks. Maybe it's improved but it still sucks. They'll be trailing most of the games which turns him into more of a check off WR. Those getting drafted before him are where they should be. Plain and simple, there are just better quality in front of him this year. It's not a knock on him at all. I think him in the second round is great value. No need to reach for him at the end of the 1st if say you have the 8th or 9th pick. He'll be there at the snake. -
The woulda done the niners a favor by injuring Alexis Smith
-
Personally, if you want consistency I'd go with Fitz. If you want a homerun then I'd go with Nicks. I think at the end of the season they'll have similar numbers, but Nicks will have those big games that might just put you over the edge for a narrow victory. Depending on your league, Fitz will be a steady 10-15 points give our take. I think Nicks will have weeks where he'll have 8 and others where he'll have 28. He had a lot of games where he just had like two receptions last year and then he'd have a 80 yard bomb in the 4th quarter. Also, as mentioned above, Fitz is in a contract year. AZ may look to appease him. He'll easily have his targets.
