Do the Patriots continue trying to run up the score in 2008?
mzf5c5 replied to kutulu's topic in FFToday Board
I think the Pats will play the game they did last year, if they can score 14 points and win, they score 14 points, if they can score 60 points, they will score 60 points. I think some teams that showed some other teams how to beat a team like them, will follow suit. I also have a feeling, if the Colts stay healthy this year, the Pats will have a very hard time handling Manning and Co, where Indy's defense is really one of the best now and Brady will find it hard again to score against us. -

Hey, Marvin Harrison might go to jail. You never know. The questions are....Will Chad do it. I don't know, Owens did to a degree. Will Oakland start Mcfadden...I don't know, Oakland isn't really a team that makes all that many good decisions. Personally, Russell should have been starting most of the year last year, did he? Hell no. I am just saying, you have two guys that one is saying he will hold out and another you don't know will start....yet.... -
All I know is the Bears visit Indy week 1 this year and I feel sorry for them to have to play the best team.

Not sure I agree with you, she has two big * players atm. Chad and Mcfadden. Neither are confirmed starting at this point. I see four teams, mine isn't included, having decent drafts so far. -
I think Mangini did it on purpose and turned in Belicheat to get back at him for something. Pretty much worked. Except now each time Belicheck plays him, if he can dominate him, he will.

I even forgot about Heath Evans... I could see the point about Morris, I thought he was further along than he must be, but I still think Jones could pick up with another club and add more value/playing time than he might get with the Pats.

If you want to know, it looks like the starter of the mock draft has held it up more. Personally, I check this bored about 6 times a day right now to see where the draft is at. If I am close, I check it more often. As far as post counts go, I finally signed up for an account here. I had used this board for around three years, just reading things from people and I have found that this site has a lot of good people here, so I wanted to start engaging in some really good football stuff. Also, this was my first chance at a mock draft and have rather enjoyed it. Not sure I am completely happy with all my choices, but as always, these things are all a gamble. And hardball, don't let sweetness get to ya. I just poke some fun back at them and move on. If they miss a pick for a while, it should be fun to start quoting their posts and making fun of them next. -

I think Sweetness needs to change their name. They sure aren't sweet. Soar, but not sweet. haha -
I thought the same thing about Joe Horn seeing how he wants a trade or released. I think he would add a nice veteren for the Colts and honestly, if he played a third WR, he could probably produce like Stokley did. Also, it was reported today Marvin is still favoring that injured knee, so insurance would be nice also. How many people would like to see Manning to Horn TD! I would say he could end up with 600 to 800 and 7 TD's if Marvin doesn't play much or limited. Oh yeah, I would put money on Horn loving a chance to play with the Colts.
-
If they bring him in, I would wonder where he would really fit in? With Maroney, Sammie Morris and Kevin Faulk, not sure they really need him if those guys stay healthy. I think that is a good RB rotation.

My thought was Grant would be used for Aaron to check down, if he didn't have anything down field this year, at least early on until he gets a few games under him, which would increase his catches. But that is a gamble, which is why I didn't take him. -
If for some reason Marvin can't play, I personally hope the Colts go out and grab a vetern WR to play opposite of Wayne. At least they have time to bring someone in for Manning if something does happen. I don't see Gonzalez being a number 2 just yet. And from my standpoint, Moorehead needs to be cut. I don't think the others can step up just yet and that was one thing the Colts were missing last season, was that extra WR. Heck, one game we only had two WR's on the starting lineup. The other option would be those rookiee tight ends they have put all their faith into behind Dallas Clark.

I was going to take Grant but then opted for TJ instead. It was a toss up on it, but I agree, he was a good pick. I was hoping he would fall back to me in the third round. -

Why don't you take a chill pill? I waited most of the day for a few people to pick and I work and have kids and soccer practice. I am sure the few hours we just waited for me, isn't anywhere near what we have waited for others so shut you mouth. Oh yeah, I am a guy, stupid idiot. Now, I will go make my pick. Next time, try to be nicer, instead of being a asshat. -

Nice Owens/Moss picks! -
Addai would rank first of the four, even with the signing of Rhoades and Hart, he still gets the bulk of the carries and is on a team that can average almost 30 points a game. I like Ryan Grant as a good gamble pick. Agree on the Favre retiring hurting him, but if Rodgers can step in after a few weeks, this guy could really take off again. Willie would be next due to never sure who will show up for a game. Reggie Bush - Honestly, don't like the guy. I thought his hype was way too much anyway and so far, I have yet to see him even live up to a second pick in the first round.

With the scoring and Brady not losing much of his firepower, I figured he would still outscore any of the RB's at that positions and most QB's around. Jackson was my other person to choose between. -
