jstraza 0 Posted October 26, 2005 I am hoping he is healthy and ready with not much need for Pittman to spell him.
hotgumbo1 12 Posted October 26, 2005 Stephen F. Holder, of the St. Petersburg Times, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Carnell Williams (foot) will need plenty of rest to completely recover from his foot injury. "The problem with the arch is the stress that goes through there is very high," said Dr. Ned Amendola, director of sports medicine at the University of Iowa. "And for a guy who is a superior athlete, the stresses are significantly increased. That means it takes more time to heal. You really have to be 100 percent because you're going to put so much of a load on it." Williams has said he has strained the tendons in the mid-foot area. "It's really an uncertain dilemma, and MRIs can't always tell you how bad it is," Amendola said. "You have to really put it all together and really listen to the athlete." The Buccaneers had a Bye in Week 7 and Williams has previously stated he expects to play in Week 8.
Guest Swoboman87 Posted October 26, 2005 Yes but I'd say Pittman is the better start. As that report says, that injury will be nagging Caddy for quite some time. Gruden will probably do the smart thing and limit Caddy's carries to under 50%
Guest Loose Circuits Posted October 26, 2005 Sporting news is usually pretty reliable. Carnell Williams, RB (rank: 10) - Buccaneers Oct. 25, 11:27 a.m. The Tampa Tribune reports Williams (foot) is expected to play in Week 8. He has missed the past two games and is coming off a bye. Fantasy Source spin: The only people more frustrated with this injury than Williams are his fantasy owners. We'll continue to monitor this all week, but the early news is good news. Next 3: @SF (24th in run defense; 124.1 ypg), CAR, WAS. Bye week: 7 http://fantasysource.sportingnews.com/nfl/updates/
