Dog Face Gremlins211 0 Posted May 4, 2006 Steelers RB Verron Haynes appears to have landed a new role with the Steelers since the team couldn't wrest T.J. Duckett from the Falcons nor draft RB LenDale White. Haynes may inherit the role left open from Jerome Bettis' retirement. "Verron is a good short-yardage runner and a goal-line guy," RB coach ###### Hoak said to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/302046/rss
Queso Viejo 0 Posted May 4, 2006 Is there any chance that the Steelers 7th round pick, Cedric Humes, could take on that role? He was a one man wrecking crew in the Virginia Tech backfield, he's just not too fast or shifty but will put a hurtin' on someone.
football_scooter 0 Posted May 4, 2006 I thought Deuce Staley would be getting that role.
