Tusekan Raiders 0 Posted July 1, 2006 Bockwoldt started at MLB the first camp, then Fincher replaced him recently. I remember reading somewhere an artical critical of Fincher's athleticism and whether he was more than a special team player, muchless two-down LB. Fujita seems the only one locked in at an OLB spot. Simmons is the wildcard. If his wrist is healthy, he used to be very productive. Tommy Polley and Jay Foreman were added too. I think Foreman is done, but I could see Polley winning MLB, or at least working it in most passing packages. I'm currently thinking Polley at MLB, Fujita at SLB, and Simmons at WLB, with Bockwoldt the top sub. Interested in other thoughts and insights. Often the best FF IDP players are the leading tackler on a BAD defense because they spend so much time on the field. The starting MLB could be very valuable here. Will Smith is one of the better young pass rushers in the game... he may step into the upper echelon this year with Darren Howard out of the way... GET HIM IF YOU CAN..... Grant did suck it up last year but I believe he was nicked up and the Saints as a whole had a good excuse to have a poor season with their limited facilities, etc....from Hurricane Katrina.... so that whole team gets a pass.. The other guy (JDSWAN922) is right also if a middle LB were to step up for this team he would be a solid IDP fantasy contributor , but good luck with that search you'll need it... haha.... The top LB or two on the Saints will absolutely have value in leagues like that. Will Smith will be a top 5 DL, a return to form by Charles Grant and he is a starting DL, plus they have a couple guys with potential in the secondary. The real NFL quality of a team has no correlation to the individual players, just like on offense. Would you not consider drafting Deuce McAllister, Reggie Bush, or Joe Horn b/c they are Saints?
