The Home Town Discussion

Recommended Posts

I actually thought of this after hearing Vinh Scully talk about Garciaparra being happy to be playing at home for the Dodgers and thought about if it has any relevance.

Do you think that playing at home boost a certain players desire to do well? It seems like it does to me. There is no place like home, and a comfortable player is more often better than not. On the con-side, there also can be distractions. I am not saying it is a big thing.. just one thing to add as a little jump in numbers.

Still though, I think both Burleson and Joe Jurevicious will have great years, both because of situation and the fact that both are playing on their hometowns. I like both players situations they are coming into and I really think both players will put up solid #2 WR and great #3 WR numbers and be excellent value picks... especially Jurevicious. I mean the guy had 10TD's last season, Braylon Edwards is supposed to miss a handful of games, and the next best WR is Dennis Northcut... all with an ADP currently around the 13th? That is an absolute steal. Burleson I am not as sure about, but you got to love being in the Seattle offense.
