Cuse9 129 Posted July 12, 2006 Looking to dump Eric Shelton in the street. I'm looking at picking up either Brandon Jones or Darius Watts. I have Drew Bennett on my roster, which one would be the better dynasty pick up ? Brandon Jones. As it is he is the #3 wr on the charts. So that means he will be with the second team in practice getting his timing down with Vince Young who will eventually lead the Titans. So the connection that he will be getting with Young is HUGE. The kid has great promise and the fact that he isn't the starter is a blessing in disguise!! I'd keep him over the other two. Drew Bennett should have a nice season as the #2 wr in Tenn....he excelled being #2, he also has great production with Volek. Once Vince Young takes over Bennetts time is all but done. So for keeper value his is minimal. I'm a huge Broncos fan and I like Darius Watts. Can you tell me who the third wr has been in Denver the past ten years? No, you can't because it don't matter. Shanny may use 6 rb's, but he'll go with two wr's and that's it. As of now Lelie is three and Watts is four. Assuming they get rid of Lelie....Watts still has no value until Rod retires or unless Walker or Smith gets hurt. I don't think Watts is the answer at any point in time however. Ron_Mexico 0 Posted July 12, 2006 I think with an aging Rod Smith and Walker returning from a serious knee injury, the door may be ajar for Watts. We all know the door has been ajar before but sometimes it takes a couple of years for WRs to mature to the NFL game.

How many years have we heard "This is it for Rod Smith" Yet year after year he puts up great #2 numbers. The guy might not ever quit...they still say he's in better shape than anyone on the team. I expect Walker will be okay....while it is scary that he's still not good to go, I don't think the Broncos would have taken him if he wasn't expected to be fine. Watts just doesn't seem like a guy that fits Shanny's system.
semaj33 0 Posted July 13, 2006 is it bad i have brandon marshall on my dynasty team while watts sits there on the free agent list? champ bailey said of brandon, "I want to know what other teams were thinking passing up on him," Denver Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey said of Marshall. "Guy's an incredible talent, obviously. You can prove yourself only so much in practice, but he's doing well enough to catch everybody's eye. I want to see how that translates to Sunday." also watts has been impressing shanny in the preseason, he was the only player he really mentioned in his interviews as standing out.... go with watts for now...but keep a eye on the next T.O. in Marshall... ~out

Jones is pretty good, but you will have to wait for Young to get better before he makes a nice fantasy impact. Watts doesn't have good enough hands. There are a lot of talented players that can't catch and if they get to the NFL they wind up being those 700 yard, 5 TD receivers that never bust out. If I had to choose, I'd pick Jones because Watts is a tease. At least if Jones doesn't do well, you know when to drop him
