BennyAndTheJets 0 Posted July 25, 2006 Does anyone consider handcuffs for wide receivers as well. Just wondering because Darrell Jackson looks to be one of those wr's that will be available for about a 4th round pick. I had him last year, and although he didn't play, any game he did play in he either got at least a TD, or at least 100 yards. I'd like to pick him up again, but would you then say I have to reach for Burleson a little higher than normal? Just wondering if anyone does with besides with just RB's. mattb333 0 Posted July 25, 2006 Nope. On good teams a talented #2 WR to me is not a handcuff but a viable #3 WR option. Just because I get Holt doesnt mean I need to grab Bruce, especially if Bruce is just going to whither away on my bench.
uubeee 0 Posted July 25, 2006 Been playing FFB for 7-8 years now and have never once heard the term "handcuffing WR's" It's probably because RB's get handcuffed because someone has to take the handoffs. But if a top WR goes down, the Qb generally spreads it around. In other words, WR's don't pick up the bulk of any other WR's game.

Last year at this time, NO one was talking about Jurevicius (WR3), but look what happened . . . Reggie Brown was a factor at the end of the year last year, and he was a WR3 or WR4 last year . . . MORAL: If you are a WR3 on a pass happy team, you have some value, especially if you own one the WR1 or WR2 on the same team . . . I just wouldnt call it "handcuffing"
