capmeo 0 Posted July 29, 2006 I have the 12 pick in a 12 team re-draft. I would like some opinions on draft strategy. Scoring-4 pts passing TD/6 pts Rush-Rec./1 pt per reception I am considering going 12th pick RB, 13th pick WR. Do you agree with this strategy? What RB do you think I should target at 12? Thanks in advance for any help.
ohiostfb 0 Posted July 29, 2006 I can't say who to exactly target there, but I think it's vital that you rank your top 13 players going into the draft. No matter what, take a RB at 12. Then if your top player left is a WR, then take him at 13. However, I'd then go RB, RB in the 3rd and 4th if you don't pick up 2 RBs to start with. The key in my eyes is to get your top 13 list, make sure to get 1 RB without a doubt, and then weigh the RB vs. WR option. For me, there are probably 4 WRs that I would take in the top 13, so I would pick those 4 guys and my top 9 RBs, and rank them together. This allows you to specifically think about each matchup, upside, etc. It will also make your on the clock decision a lot easier. Every ranking changes between different drafters, but preparation will let you leave the 1st round/2nd round turn feeling much better about your choice. Great White Hope 0 Posted July 29, 2006 I would be targeting Westbrook and Dom Davis in a PPR league here. If any of the following fall to you I would take them ahead of the two above: LT2 SA LJ Tiki Portis Lamont Ronnie Brown Stephen Jackson Rudi If all of those are gone I would go with 2 WRs or Manning and WR. Even 4pt TDs, Manning should be the best QB this season. Good Luck!!
capmeo 0 Posted July 30, 2006 Excellent posts, very in-sightful! I am so tempted to take a WR/WR combo like S.Smith and C.Johnson, considering the 1 ppr, however I think at the next turn in round 3 and 4 it will hurt me. Ohio, I think that is great advice and I will probably develop my strategy that way. Thanks for the help!
