pacman_fl 0 Posted August 9, 2006 I have been flipping these guys back and forth for to long. Forget ADP or value, for just production can you rank these players (Dynasty and Re-draft)? TIA Parker J. Jones McGahee K. Jones Droughns C. Taylor
jacob_17 0 Posted August 9, 2006 1. McGahee...Still put up 1200 yards last season with a subpar offensive line and QB. Needs to be more consistent put has big potential. 2. J.Jones...Potential just like McGahee, but needs to stay healthy. Marion Barber III is also a threat to some carries. 3. Chestor Taylor...Unproven, but has the starting role and is looking at about 20 carries a game. Also a recieving threat out of the backfield for ppr league. 4a.Droughns...Not many touchdowns last year, but look for more this year and decent yards. 4b. Parker...Big plays and yards, but will lack TDs. 6. K. Jones...Pass happy offense hurts him in my opinion, but could put up good numbers if Kitna can make the offense go. Cuse9 129 Posted August 9, 2006 1. Droughns. Put up nice numbers last year and they had no talent around him. Now this year he has a qb with a lil more experience, Winslow and Braylon could be studs and Joe J is a great posession guy. Droughns could be in for a helk of a year. Definitly needs to score more, but should get close to ten or more TD's this year. 2. Parker. Had a nice year last year. If he gets Bettis' TD's then he's a legit fantasy starter. Seems like he'll be given the chance. If he does get the TD carries I would put him ahead of Droughns. 3. McGahee. Has more talent than anyone on your list. Problem is he has no desire to be in Buffalo and his heart just isnt' in it. He is happy to get 1000 yds and that's it. 4. Taylor. IF he wins the job, and I assume he will, could be a decent back. I don't see him putting up stellar numbers, but 900-1100 yds isn't far fetched. Good hands, quick and has okay size so he shold get goal line carries. It's a rebuilding process in Minn, so nobody really knows what is gonna happen? 5. J. Jones. If he stays healthy he is arguably a top ten back. I just don't think he can. He hasn't proven he can stay healthy to be the Cowboys #1 back, so we can't expect to draft him as our #1 back! 6. K. Jones. I am just simply not a believer that Jones' abilities work in a Martz offense. Jones is quick and has good power, but I don't think he has all the intangibles to be effective enough in this offense. I'm pretty much alone on this....most think he is a bomb waiting to explode.....I however think he's a dud.
pacman_fl 0 Posted August 9, 2006 I have a feeling 2 more opinions may have a different order, but I am curious if there is an agreement anywhere. Thanks for the feedback so far; so much positive AND negative in this group.
Cuse9 129 Posted August 9, 2006 Absolutely. It's all how you see the year playing out. If we go by talent. 1--McGahee easy 2--K. Jones 3--J. Jones 4--Taylor 5--Parker 6--Droughns Potential 1--J. Jones 2--Parker 3--K. Jones 4--Droughns 5--Taylor 6--McGahee Willis McGahee is one of the biggest busts out there. He didn't do bad last year, but he basically quit. Once he got 1000 yds, he was content!! He has no desire to be the best in the game. Other backs such as LT, know their team isn't the best, but he does everything in his power to make them better. McGahee just pizzes me off. All that talent....and he just goes through the motions. I've never owned him, so it's not like he burnt me....I just don't get it. lguero1 4 Posted August 9, 2006 McGahee, Willis/BUF Bad o-line, bad team. Jauron will rely on him. -4.03 Being asked to catch more balls. 241.0 Added good fullback./20 Jones, Kevin/DET Martz is OC. Tough 1st 2 weeks. +12.96 Doing well in passing game. Will play Faulk's role in STL.198.5 Go after KJones after week 2 because his value will be low after playing SEA and @ CHI. Give good RB for KJones and WR./4 Droughns, Reuben/CLE Solid. -3.35 No one else got 20 carries last year. They'll have 3rd down back this year. 228.0/17 Jones, Julius/DAL Injury prone. -6.78 Hancuff w/ Marion Barber. Will lose some carries to MB 200.0/27 Parker, Willie/PIT 5 great games, 10 bad games last year. Removed inside 10. -8.09 191.0 1st 2 games are tough for FWP so you can go after him after week 2. Give good RB for FWP and WR. Could get GL carries this year, probably not though./22 Taylor, Chester/MIN Could be the man in MIN. -5.41 Great O-line. Will get stacked lines. 216.0 Could get 400 touches./24 this is the order i have these ranked, figuring in injury risks. name/notes/two SOS
brya31 0 Posted August 9, 2006 I think I like them in this order: McGahee K. Jones Parker J. Jones Droughns C. Taylor I dont have a good feeling about Droughns and Taylor. JJ still has Barber stealing carries. Parker is good bet, but he only has one season for me to judge. I honestlly believe K. Jones will finally decide that he needs to get his act together and quit burning his fantasy owners. Mcgahee would be a stud if his team didnt suck so bad.
