leftyguitar 0 Posted August 18, 2006 ok, we're in the 7th round. i've got the 4th pick. draft is on its way down, so i won't get another pick after this for a while... 10 team leauge, league scoring system is in my sig. here's my situation: i've got starters all set except for QB (and K / DEF but those are last.) My team so far is: Tomlinson, Westbrook Holt, Wayne, Driver Gonzalez looking ahead, the teams after me still need starting WR's and they're becoming very scarce. I'm thinking about snagging the best available WR right now to screw those teams over. I still need a starting QB: Manning, Brady, Hasselbeck, Plummer, Palmer, Delhomme, and Warner are gone. BUT, only two teams besides me still need a starting QB, so I think the worst that I'll end up with is Bulger, Eli Manning, CPep, Green/Vick somewhere in that neighborhood. ALL of the teams so far have RB's 1 and 2. I don't think anybody's thinking backups until they have their starters figured out. so to get to my question: who's the best value pick for me right now? backup WR: rod smith, stallworth, kennison, glenn, coles. about the best calibur left backup RB: Droughns, Dillon, McAllister, Tatum Bell. all still there starting QB: Eli, McNabb, Bulger, Cullpepper, Vick, Bledsoe, Green. all still there
BeeefyTaco 0 Posted August 18, 2006 I'd go with a RB, then QB. Or even QB then RB. Due to the scare amounts or RBs i'd probably go RB first with Dillon, then go with a QB. Bulger, CPep, even Eli sitll on the board is plenty of depth for your QB slot.
aggiewildlife 0 Posted August 18, 2006 I think I'd have to say that you should go ahead and grab a QB rather than just picking somebody to screw the other teams. You've got a good set of WR's and none of those WR options are super-exciting at this point. although I'd be tempted to maybe snag somebody like Droughns. How many more slots until your next pick? If you thought you could still Eli, McNabb, C-Pep, or Bulger in the next round, I'd maybe grab another RB then get that QB in the next. But if not, I'd probably grab whichever one you like best now, and then choose the best available RB in the next round. Good luck, thanks for seeing mine. leftyguitar 0 Posted August 18, 2006 thanks guys, i'm gonna go with corey dillon. he finished out the season last year super-strong, and will still be the go-to and goalline back in NE. Maroney is lookin good but I don't think he's gonna take too much away from corey this season. I pass on Droughns just because of the injury situation / horrible offense in general in cleveland. Or when one of your studly RBs takes a fall and goes on IR (happens to us every year) you will have a good back up to stick in. I don't think very highly of WRs because they are never consistent. I believe if you watch the waiver wire closely enough you will be able to find the best WRs around weeks 3-4 and you can ride them the rest of the way. Last year I picked up Santana Moss off of waivers in Week 4. Please help me!
