DankNuggs 305 Posted August 20, 2006 i gotta say maroney even though it is counterintuitive... I have to believe TJ will be the starter if he doesn't get traded... he is simply better than Cedric... LM won't play much this year, but Dillons injry risk gives him an angle to be the guy, and be productive in that role...
www.kyleortonfans.com 0 Posted August 20, 2006 Chicago homer here. I picked Maroney (5.12) in a 1st year keeper league and Benson went a bit earlier, i believe. I was very happy to get Maroney there. Talent/potential wise, I'd give the edge to Benson. He has a wonderful oppurtunity to be the featured back for a very good running team for a long time. Heart/Desire wise, Maroney gets the nod, hands down. Kid looks hungry, something Benson has NEVER shown. I think benson knows how good he can be, but fails to capitalize on it. Maroney seems to have the heart that it takes to become a great back. The sky is the limit for Maroney, could be for Benson, but I honestly don't think he has what it takes to be great (if he does, i'll eat my hat). I'd love to see him (Benson) do well, but damnit if i don't wish the bears would have taken caddilac or traded down and taken Rolle, Pollack, Merriman, and/or Matt Jones instead. TIKI-BARBERS-BARBER 0 Posted August 20, 2006 Maroney just on talent alone.

There really was no reason for the Bears for the Bears to draft Benson. I think the season before that T Jones accounted for like 35 - 40% of the bears total offense and lead the nfl in that catagory.
rebooters 1 Posted August 20, 2006 maroney...looking good so far and is on the better team. benson is nursing a shoulder i believe and i dunno if that will linger this year. benson should get the starting job but i just dont see the bears offense doing much again. i would take maroney first. Ferris 0 Posted August 20, 2006 I personally don't like Benson, I live in Texas(austin) the guy is a jerk and I will not be shocked if he ever gets thrown in jail a time or two during his pro career because the guy has character flaws, I witnessed a few of them first hand during his tenure at UT, however the guy isn't soft, just because he got hurt last season and tweaked his shoulder this season doesnt mean he is soft. He has no history of injuries during his time at Midland Lee or the University of Texas, he does have a history of a lot of carries throughout his pre-pro football career.. so soft ..No! Worn out already... Maybe.
