Draft Help

Recommended Posts

Little help here. All of the times I've ever drafted, I've never been lower that 3rd pick. Don't ask me how, but it's true. This year I have the 12th pick which means I'll have the 13th as well. What would your strategy be? I'm thinking of taking the 2 best RB's on the board. Any other suggestions as far as WR's or QB's? Unless Peyton is left, I think I'll pass on the QB's. Thanks for the help.

You have to assume that either 11 RBs or 10RBs + Peyton will be gone by the time your pick comes.

So RB-WR is prob your best bet unless two CLEAR #1 RBs are there, like Ronnie Brown/R Johnson/W Parker/C Williams. If two of them are there - TAKE THEM BOTH.

If only one of those is there, I would take the best one (hopefully it will be R Brown or R Johnson) and L Fitzgerald.

If Peyton is there - DO NOT take him. There will be other QBs available in 5-7 rounds. Stay the course.

1.12: RB

2.01: RB/WR

3.12: RB ( C Taylor/K Jones/W Dunn)

4.01: If Gates is avail I would take him here. If not, best WR or NON-RBBC.

thanks for the replies. i was think of taking the best back available and maybe the best reciever or the two top rb's. I love the idea of having chad johnson on my squad. he hooked me up big time last year. it's gonna be hard to lay off but if there are two top backs there i think i'll have to.

I would take the top 2 RB's available if their is quality there. That guy in my 12 teamer Fri got Portis at 11 and Caddy at 12. Those two or similar are solid. If not, you have to get 1 RB to be your #1 guy, then it would be ok to go top WR. NO QB as it is a long time until you get to pick again!

If Portis is available at 12,13.....would you guys take him? Is he worth the risk?

Also, if you would take him.....would you grab both Duckett and Betts?

Portis is an absolute steal at #12. Two weeks ago, people were taking him 4th constantly and some were thinking of taking him 3rd! Now a shoulder injury and Duckett, he is a 2nd rounder? His shoulder will be fine and Duckett is just insurance telling me there is no faith in Betts!

Yes I would jump all over Portis at 12!

I say no for this reason: You have to invest THREE picks in him (Portis, Duckett & Betts) to get his production. AND, if TJ Duckett's ADP is anywhere from 8.01-14.11, then you have to draft him in Round 5-8 to MAKE SURE you get him. You could have a Top 4 TE/low tier non-RBBC in that round instead, which would be a CONTINUING contribution to your team.

Plus, I think the injury is worse than they are letting on. Being from the DC area, they were VERY high on Betts, and he was the definite fill in for 1-2 games. Once they brougt in TJ, it is being deemed as worse than first reported.
