Dano_mano 0 Posted August 28, 2006 I picked 16 of 18 - running backs were a problem by then. Here's what I did... QB Trent Green, KC QB RB Tatum Bell, Den RB RB/WR Samkon Gado, GB RB WR Steve Smith, Car WR WR Terrell Owens, Dal WR TE Ben Troupe, Ten TE D/ST Colts D/ST, Ind D/ST K Mike Vanderjagt, Dal K P Bench Mewelde Moore, Min RB Bench Jim Sorgi, Ind QB D Bench Matt Schaub, Atl QB Bench Bobby Engram, Sea WR Bench Marcus Robinson, Min WR Bench Packers D/ST, GB D/ST It could have been worse, I guess, but we drafted 2 weeks ago. Anybody have any words of encouragement/sympathy?
boogaloobboy 0 Posted August 29, 2006 OK first of all hate yourself for entering a 18 man league if it has a flex then I can't imagine a bigger nightmare. I assume you went Smith/Owens on teh flip, which I can't really argue with. I would have like to have seen perhaps Dunn/Owens there, but you certainly got a solid WR core. BTW in a league of this size it is such a ridiculous advantage to draft 1-6 I would never play in it for money. They get an elite back and then 2 more of the top 45 picks, whereas you don't pick after 32 until 52 and 64. OUCH. The Tatum/Mike Bell situation hurts you big time here, just hope Bell can get 900 yards and 5 or so touchdowns this year. Troupe and Vandergagt are nice since the league is so deep you have an advantage over several people there. Green is solid and Schaub could help big time later. Never been in or seen to many 18 man leagues but I have to assume your a middle of the pack to bottom of the pack team, not by your doing really just by the format. There is no way someone from your position can compete with say LJ/SA/LT and then them getting the Javon Walker/Chris Chambers of the world and then maybe a Santana Moss or Jason Witten type.
