Thank You FFT

Recommended Posts

I ditched the magazines and ESPN.com this year and decided to try and find a website with forums and such. I wanted more insight and up to date information. Luckily, I stumbled upon FFT. Immediately, two things became clear:

1) I didn't know nearly as much about FF as I thought I did

2) The other coaches in my league knew even less than I did

So, armed with the knowledge gleaned from reading FFT daily for the past 6 weeks, this is the team I came away with (the numbers in parentheses indicates which round I picked that player in - I had the 2nd pick):

QB: Steve McNair (12)

RB: Shaun Alexander (1)

Warrick Dunn (4)

Mike Bell (6)

Frank Gore (7)

Fred Taylor (10)

Jerious Norwood (13)

WR: Torry Holt (2) :dunno:

Chris Chambers (3) :wall:

Santana Moss (5)

Matt Jones (9)

Antonio Bryant (11)

Troy Williamson (14)

TE: Ben Watson (8) :D

DEF: Jax (15)

Kicker: Josh Brown (16)

No, my draft wasn't perfect and I saw a few picks afterwards that I might have chosen differently in hindsight. But I was quite pleased. I have a very solid core w/ good depth and some potential sleepers.

I went a little crazy w/ waiting on a QB though... we'll see how that goes.

This is the first year of a keeper league - it has been a redraft league, but we decided to switch this year.

Thank you FFT - the knowledge and expertise on this site helped me tremendously come draft day! :first:

Things I like:

Big time steal with Frank Gore in the 7th round I think. Also a huge steal in Holt late in round 2. Like Jones and Williamsons potential.

Things I dont:

A little shaky with Bell and Taylor at RB3. Don't like McNair and reached for Chambers.

I'll start SA and Dunn. Gore, Bell and Taylor will be my backups - I just couldn't pass up Taylor in the 10th!

Yeah, I'm not thrilled w/ my QB spot, but once I waited, two huge runs on QBs took all the talent off the board. I like McNair as a sleeper, but if it doesn't work out, I think I'm deep enough to trade.

I expect big things from Chambers this year. The main reason I reached was b/c there were plenty of Tier 2 and top Tier 3 RBs left.
