Me_2006 14 Posted August 28, 2006 I just saw that Stallworth has been traded to the Eagles and that Collins signed a deal with the Titans. What does this do for the value of both, as they are both FA's in my league and I could pick them up. On a side note, what does this do to the value of Reggie Brown and Donovan McNabb? Also, Greg Jones is out for the season, impact on Fragile Fred? Toefield? Just looking for input cause I believe seasons can be won/lost on the waiver wire since nowadays all the drafts look the same with the exceptions of the moronic ones, which dont count anyway. Thanks. Leave a link, and I'll get to yours. As much as I despise doing this, I feel like my post actually has some relevancy and conversational value but was unfortunately squashed by about 7 "look how good of a team I drafted against my little sister and her dolls" posts. So....bump.
wak 0 Posted August 29, 2006 I would definitely pick up Stallworth, but Im not sure if Collins has much value. Stallworth It may take him some time to learn the nuances of the offense, but once he does, he will immediately step in as a starter. The Eagles are currently going with RBrown and HBaskett, and it has been said that Baskett will be much more effective in a reduced role. The other WRs on the Eagles (Pinkston - still hurt, Avant - no impact, McCants - special teams, Gaffney - possible cut) have no value and are of no threat to Stallworth's value. The knock on Stallworth in New Orleans was his tendency to get injured (he seems to be over the nagging hamstring issue) and his inconsistency (he dropped a # of balls), but you can never question the guy's speed and playmaking ability. And that is exactly what the Eagles need. For those that say McNabb spreads the ball around should look no further than TO. McNabb spreads the ball around when he is dealt 5 marginal receivers and 2 adequate TEs. If you give him someone with actual talent (other than BWest), he will look to get that player the ball as much as possible. Grab him and hope he can improve on last yrs #s (945 7). Collins He has not been given the starter's job and will be competing w/ Volek. I think he has limited value for 100 reasons. First, plain and simple he is not that good. He had a ton of weapons in Oakland and New York, and was marginal at best. Here, he will be dealing with a lot less talent, and even if he wins the job, he could get pulled at any pt for Volek. And Im sure Vince Young will see the field at some pt this season. Unless you have zero backup Qbs, I wouldnt bother.
Me_2006 14 Posted August 29, 2006 Thanks for the help. I pretty much agree. I was just wondering if I was the only one who thought Stallworth was worth picking up. I dont really NEED either of them for PT or anything, but was thinking more along the lines of getting to them before some teams that did and using them as trade bait. Any suggestions as to what they'd be worth?
