2Dumb2Live 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Just had our draft on Monday...10 team league, standard scoring, I was drafting in the 5 spot. Keeper league...I kept LJ from last year, so he was my first round choice... Starting Lineups: QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, K, DEF I usually keep 2 Ks and 2 Defs because I'm cheap and don't want to pay the waiver wire fees to add/drop during the year ... Suggestions on improvements... 1.05: Larry Johnson 2.06: S. Smith 3.05: R Droughns 4.06: K Jones 5.05: D Driver 6.06: D Mason 7.05: J Horn 8.06: T Green 9.05: E Kennison 10.06: Carolina 11.05: TJ Duckett 12.06: Michael Clayton 13.05: J Kitna 14.06: Baltimore 15.05: Jay Feely 16.06: J Carney Suggested Starting lineup... QB: T Green RB: LJ, Droughns WR: Smith, Driver, Mason K: Feely D: Carolina Thoughts on how I did...suggestions??
Clinker26 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Thanks for helping with mine. I actually don't really like your team much for being a 10 man league. Part of that is b/c you have two guys that I am staying away from this year in your starting line-up. Green and Droughns. I like your WR"s and you obviously have arguably the top RB and Top WR so overall I think you will be OK, just not a team I would have drafted this year. 2Dumb2Live 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Ya...I went one pick to late on my QB...instead opting for Horn...thought it was a better value pick...but it cost me Warner if I remember correctly...Green was my next highest rated QB available. In regards to Droughns, it was him or Dunn...and with word on Dunn being nicked up I just thought he was a safer pick. Besides I actually think the Cleveland Offense will be quite a bit better this year...another year for Frye with a couple of his other weapons back will hopefully open stuff up...we shall see... Thanks for the input.
MicktheGreat 1 Posted August 30, 2006 Thanks for helping with mine... I think your team could be good; HOWEVER, you have a lot of ??? on your roster... How will Steve Smith's hammy be??? Will Joe Horn and Michael Clayton rebound after bad years??? What will TJ Duckett's role be on a new team??? How will Kevin Jones do in the new Mike Martz system??? How will Reuben Droughns do with the loss of Bentley??? Overall, I think your team has the potential to be good (especially if either Droughns or KJ prove to be serviceable and Horn, Clayton, or Kennison have good years--if so then you'll have some nice depth, especially at WR which you can then trade to address other needs). The one thing that I do NOT like about your team is QB. I'm unsure exactly how Kitna will do as the full-time starter--even with all those weapons around him, how many years now in a row has the Lions offense ultimately proven to be a disappointment? Also, I'm staying far, far, far away from Trent Green this year. He's old, his primary target (Gonzo) is getting older as well, his WRs aren't incredibly talented, and (most importantly) new coach Herm Edwards has a very conservative view of offense--one in which running the ball 40 times a game will be his goal (meaning fewer pass attempts). I'd definitely look to acquire a different QB if I was you...
oligator 0 Posted August 30, 2006 For a 10-team league it is a little thin. But LJ and Smith could carry you all the way.
