harpua3 0 Posted September 3, 2006 Asking for comments or concerns about this draft strategy...Im drafting from the pole in a 10 team league. Here are the posistions we start: QB RB RB/WR WR WR WR/TE DEF K ---------------------- This is my plan: 1.1 - S.A. 2.10 - Best WR available (fitz, holt, harrison, boldin) 3.1 - Chambers - Really want him this year and he's not gonna be there at 4.10 4.10 - D. Foster - Been able to grab him at this spot in 10 out of 10 mocks 5.1 - 90% sure I'm grabbing a QB here - I know it may seem early (could get E. Manning), but I dont want to wait until 6.10 6.10 - Best WR or RB's left on the board 7.1 - D. Williams - Lock up Fosters handcuff - also got him here in 10 out of 10 mocks Rounds 8 - 11 - build WR & RB depth 12.10 - DEFENSE 13.1 - Back-Up QB Round 14 - 15 - Grab a couple more bench guys 16.10 - KICKER - Josh Brown __________________________________ I realize that this plan could be disrupted if some of these guys are off the board when I am planning on getting them - but I have done 10 mock drafts from the #1 spot and been able to secure them each time. Anyone got any feedback for me? Thanks!
dcg 0 Posted September 3, 2006 No way would I want to wait until the end of the 4th to grab my second RB....I'd definitely take the best available in round 2/3. Why are you so high on Foster? I don't really like to go into drafts having already decided what position I want in each round (other than the fact that I almost always start RB/RB/WR). harpua3 0 Posted September 3, 2006 Im getting my #2 RB in the fourth because by the selection @ the last pick in the second round will be pretty crappy. We only HAVE to start one RB but we can start up to four WR's. By getting two stud WR's at 2.10 & 3.1 ( and having S.A. as my #1 RB) will give me a pretty solid core. If I wait until 4.10 to get my #2 WR there wont be many really good WR's left. Im not really that high on Foster, but if I can get him at 4.10 and get D. Williams (his handcuff) in the 7th round I will be happy.
dcg 0 Posted September 3, 2006 Fair enough. Even though you can start 4 WR, I'd want to be starting 2 RB/3 WR. I had a different pick in my 10 team league (4), but I went RB/RB/WR/WR/RB/TE/WR (didn't get my 3rd receiver until round 7, I can start 3 RB in my league) and I ended up w/ Boldin, Wayne and Housh, which is not awful.
