MoshPitHippie 0 Posted September 7, 2006 I don't think this trade helps you much... If Bell ends up the starter in Den and is a top 10 backthen this trade really sucks... Mcgahee is a bit of a gamble cause the bills kind of suck, and Manning could be the best qb in the league, I would not pull the trigger on this one, the risk could pay off big.... Return the favor??? http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...=0#entry2662861
FirstDownSyndrome 0 Posted September 7, 2006 Well it looks like your learning why it's not a good to use your first pick on a QB. This trade is horribly one sided. A second or third tier RB and two afterthought WRs for the top QB a near 1000yd RB and a possible breakout WR, why even consider this. This guy is clearly low balling you. What does his team look like? What's your scoring system?
Milwalkeysbeast 0 Posted September 7, 2006 bad trade, don't do it http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=229368

Eriadoc 4 Posted September 7, 2006 I like McGahee over Tinker Bell, so if you can pursue that, I think it would be worthwhile. However, I'd hang onto Manning for sure. He probably wants TBell so he can have a lock on the Denver backfield. I say let him have it, but get McGahee out of it. You'll probably have to offer up something to even the trade a bit, like maybe Matt Jones for Rod Smith or similar. If it's a PPR league, you could even consider Lav Coles. He'll get lots of catches, but low TD totals. Please see mine - http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=229379
quentinfox 0 Posted September 7, 2006 He's really strong at several positions. This is kind of a tough one, but here's some food for thought. I might consider (assuming this is not a keeper league) trading Manning and Bell for Rudi johnson and Warner. Manning is a clear upgrade at QB for him. Cardinals' QB will have a good enough year to keep you in contention as long as he stays healthy (pick up Leinart if available in the free agent pool). Bell gives him a sure thing at Denver as one of the Bells will start. Rudi Johnson is a clear upgrade for you and eliminates a big question mark at RB. You'd have to dump Rivers or Simms. If it were me, I'd dump Simms. I think Rivers will hafve enough safety valve with LT2 & Gates to be reasonably successful. Besides, he'd be your backup. If the other guy really covets Manning, he may go for it... you'll have three good RB's and so will he. You'll drop value at QB, but especially if you can pick up Leinart I think you'll be more steady from week to week. I think your receivers are fine... watch the waiver wire and a couple more good ones will show up. Keep your eye on Jennings in Green Bay. He's drawing praise from coaches as being Marvin Harrisonesque as far as skill type. Maybe a little premature to say that about a Rookie, but they seem to think he's got the moves... sitting #2 on their depth chart and Favre throws a lot. I'm not a Lloyd fan myself. You have enough depth that you might consider taking a flier on a higher risk/reward pick at WR. Good luck. hadji 0 Posted September 7, 2006 I wouldn't do the trade. Giving up Manning really hurts you at QB a lot because you don't really have an adequate backup. I think Manning by himself is worth more than McGahee and two throw ins let alone you throwing Bell and Jones in on the deal. Bad deal. Help me out: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=229344

You need to play hardball and comeback over the top (not to mix metaphors) and let him know he can't bully you. Offer him Peyton/Bell for Rudi/McGahee. He won't accept, but he'll know he'll have to seriously up his offer if he really wants to get Peyton.
