WR3 lineup ? -- Keyshawn vs Reggie Brown

Recommended Posts

I am going back and forth on who to start as my 3rd WR this week between the Panthers WR Keyshawn Johnson (vs ATL) or Eagles WR Reggie Brown (@HOU).

Here are my reasons for starting each:

Keyshawn

1. Steve Smith is injured, may not play 100% on offense which means more throws to Keyshawn

2. Delhomme threw 4 TD in 2 games vs the Falcons last year

3. Keyshawn is big (6'4) going against either the Falcons undersized Jason Webster or the 1st round rookie CB they drafted this year.

4. Keyshawn seems to have big games at the start/end of the season (see last year 2TD vs Chargers week1)

Reggie Brown:

1. They play the Texans.

2. They play the Texans! I think the Eagles put up 30-40 points easy.

3. Stallworth hasn't had time to be 100% up to speed on the Philly offense & with McNabb, so Reggie Brown will still be their primary WR (note: I realize Westbrook/ LJ probably are better receiving options for the Eagles)

4. Brown came on strong at the end of last season.

To me, this situation seems like a pick 'em, either guy could get 60-80yards and a 1 TD.

Also, I traded Drew Bennett for Keyshawn earlier in the week, but this was mostly a move to build depth on my team. I do have Hines Ward benched this week since Ben is out, and he has lingering hamstring issues, but I do plan to start Ward as soon as Ben is in the lineup again.

The Eagles love to throw the ball. Reggie played well at the end of last season. I like him as the option here. Keyshawn could have a good year in Carolina but I see Brown putting up bigger numbers in week 1.

Thanks for the feedback. That is what I was thinking.
