eberger45 0 Posted September 8, 2006 IN a 12 team league, standard scoring, 1QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 D/ST, 1 K, 9 BENCH I think I went too conservative/predictable in our fantasy draft and I wound up with a team filled with a bunch of average players but no studs. I can see the team putting up average numbers every week, beating teams that have bad weeks and losing to ones whose studs put up huge numbers, winding up 6-8 or something. Any ideas for packages I can put together to try to get a top notch player? Heres my team: QB Drew Bledsoe RB Rudi Johnson RB Willie parker WR Anquan Boldin WR TJ Houshmandzadeh TE Chris Cooley D/ST Cowboys K Jay Feeley Bench1 Darrel Jackson (WR) Bench2 Ahman Green (RB) Bench3 Steve McNair (QB) Bench4 TJ Duckett (RB) Bench5 Kellen Winslow (TE) Bench6 Ernest Wilford (WR) Bench7 Brian Griese (QB) Bench8 Nate Kaeding (K) Bench9 Lions (D)
bobpate17 0 Posted September 8, 2006 I actually like ur time. it's better than average. but if u really want to trade than wait for wilford do little better, which he will. and then u can trade him and one of ur RB like amangree to get better TE or RB. but I like ur two Starting WR. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=229898
benbadman 0 Posted September 8, 2006 the only week spot I see is at QB.. wait 2-3 weeks see how the Cowboys are doing.. if Bledsoe is putting up good #s then keep him, otherwise try and package someone for a QB upgrade. Jon Kitna might be a guy u can get on waivers, he's running Mike Martzs system IN a 12 team league, standard scoring, 1QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 D/ST, 1 K, 9 BENCH I think I went too conservative/predictable in our fantasy draft and I wound up with a team filled with a bunch of average players but no studs. Maybe a problem with Depth if either goes down to injury and Green can't bounce back with a solid year, but other than that I wouldn't be disappointed to field that team in a deep league. I also agree that you need to think about quarterbacks, but other than that I think you did a pretty solid job. Like he said wait a bit and see how Bledsoe does and how McNair adapts to his new surroundings. No need to jump too soon unless there is a rash of injuries early on at QB this year and people in your league start gobbling them up.

Right, I wasn't saying cut McNair or Bledsoe and pickup Kitna.. just that Kitna could be a sleeper fantasy QB (he did have a pro bowl year in 2003 before Carson Palmer's tenure began), so keep an eye on him.. if he does well early someone with QB uncertainty will snap him up. Buz 0 Posted September 8, 2006 You might be able to trade Duckett and Winslow to the guy who has Portis, and get somebody to help your team that way. You could probably grab an extra RB off the waiver wire if you still want four on your team.
eberger45 0 Posted September 8, 2006 Thanks for the advice guys... I guess I haven't ever been in a league this deep so maybe my outlook is pessimistic. I was actually thinking of trying ot deal for portis, because I think he'll heal quick and will be a more serious producer than either of the RBs I got. Im not sure anyone would go for Duckett and Winslow for Portis (even injured) unless it looked like portis was gonna be out for a while or winslow had a BIG weekend this weekend. I was thinking of offering Boldin for Portis heads up, then trying to deal one of my starting RBs for a better receiver and/or QB, then stick Duckett in til Portis was healthy. I guess that might be a bit risky. Maybe offer TJ and Duckett, then try to turn around and get a top notch Wide Out or a Palmer or Manning type QB for one of my three good RBs. Anyway, thanks again for your adviceguys!
