jjbergman 0 Posted September 14, 2006 Can I get some thoughts on this trade from both sides? I'm trying to be unbiased here and get others thoughts. Player 1 has LT and K Warner - trading away Pennington, Benson, & Gates. Player 2 has Alexander - trading away Leinert, Turner, and Watson. Roster is 1 QB, 3 WR's, 2 RB's, 1 TE, K, & DEF and 6 bench spots. Fair trade for both?
afs 0 Posted September 14, 2006 your basically trading Gates for Watson! It's week 1 and sounds like a panic move! Leinert will not start this year, unless they are out of it and it's late in the season, Turner is only in to give LT a breather! On the other side, Pennington looked good but that won't last with his WEAK arm. Benson could start sooner than later, and Gates will come around in week 2. I would KEEP P/B/G,(but never start Penn, unless my #1 falls) and I would TRADE if I had L/T/W! If you're the commish judging wether to veto, I would VETO. OK...I didn't see the whole post before responding...clearly someone is trying to backup their starters, but I think it's kind of early for that, especially with only 15 spots available, who would be the backups for the bye week! Seems fishy! and sound slike P2 is taking advantage of P1, by disguising value in backups!
BrianReilly55 0 Posted September 14, 2006 I have to agree with "afs" post. It's really, really early yet, so don't hit the panic button! Thanks for your input on mine, and Good Luck!
drasgear 0 Posted September 14, 2006 Sounds fair to me. It basically does boil down to Watson for Gates. With a new qb in SD and no #1 in NE, there is a lot of speculation for both guys. I wouldn't give up Gates for that, but I can see how somebody else would.

I don't see Leinert starting unless Warner goes down, so I'd rank Pennington ahead of Leinert. Benson and Turner cancel each other out (unless Benson stops shooting himself in the foot) and Gates ranks ahead of Watson. Take it if you're 2 hold if you're 1. Thanks for helping with mine. hotfootteddy 0 Posted September 15, 2006 It seems like this trade is only for the LT handcuff Its a somewhat even trade (I wouldn't veto it) but I don't really see much of an upside. I think the one with Penn., Benson, and Gates isn't getting all that great of a deal, he/she should keep who they have.
