Darb33 0 Posted October 12, 2006 I was offered Carson Palmer for Matt Leinart and Anquan Boldin. We start 3 Wr in this league. I currently have the following quarterbacks and receivers: Byron Leftwich, Jon Kitna, Jake Plummer, Matt Leinart Anquan Boldin, Chad Johnson, Greg Jennings, Braylon Edwards, Wes Welker I am thinking of countering with Leinart and Jennings for Palmer. Should I even mess with this lineup or is Palmer a good bye low candidate right now? I will help you in return, thanks.
wanska13 0 Posted October 12, 2006 Palmer is definitely a good buy low candidate, but what he's asking for is way too high. I doubt he'll go for your counter, since I'm guessing he wants Bolding more than Leinart and wants Leinart for the combo points. Have him throw in a semi decent WR or RB and see how that looks. Art Vandelay 0 Posted October 12, 2006 Only one QB, I'm assuming. I think it's a good deal. Boldin will get more looks with Fitzgerald out temporarily, but I still don't trust the rookie QB overall. Between those other guys, you have solid WRs and could use a substantial QB upgrade. That said, you can try offering Jennings. My trade is the "Trade for ALexander" thread. Thanks. hadji 0 Posted October 12, 2006 I think you definitely need to make a move for a solid QB and Palmer would be a great fit for you. I would try to get a mid tier WR in return on the deal to give you the depth at WR you need. I think it definitely improves your team. If you can start Palmer at QB and have CJ, Jennings and Edwards as your WR's that's pretty good especially if you can get another decent #2 or #3 WR out of the deal also. Who are his other WR's? help me out: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=243145

mlb1234 0 Posted October 12, 2006 In my league there are several "serviceable" WR's in the free agent pool - - if that's the case, I'd do the deal. Palmer is a big upgrade to your team and you can still field solid WR's. However, your depth is weak and you need to be able to pick up someone if you have bye week or injury issues. I do not see any reason to give him 2 for 1 here. I would trade Boldin for Palmer straight up. If he/she says no then they can pound sand! I believe Leinert will have a decent year and you may be able to use him as trade bait later in the season in case of an injury. Do not give 2 for 1 in this instance. hagler 0 Posted October 13, 2006 I would not do this deal---- You really can't afford to lose Boldin---your remaining #3, #4 WRs are not great. You can still get production from Leftwich & Kitna based on matchups--- And when Fitz returns, Leinart could be a nice option. please see mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=243461
tpn01 0 Posted October 13, 2006 Keep what you've got, the Jags and Leftwich have a favorable schedule and Bengals will face some tough D's. Give Leinart some time to see how he develops. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=243321
treewarden 1 Posted October 13, 2006 I'd honestly keep what you have. JAX schedule gets easier the rest of the way & M Jones should be back after the bye week so good options. Plummer or Kitna will get you by this week. Your WR are fine as they are also. Stay the course!
dalie 2 Posted October 13, 2006 Carson would be good for your team but I would also try for a WR in the deal too, a teir 2 or 3 guy. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=243518
enjoi525 0 Posted October 13, 2006 I wouldn't do it for what he's asking. Also. between the 4 qbs that you have, you should be able to find a vary favorable matchup for atleast one of them. stick with what you got for now. mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=243504
luemewinks 0 Posted October 13, 2006 i would definetley counter with jennings. palmer is good, but he's not the palmer of last year. last game he fumbled the ball 4 times. i don't think you're gaining enough to lose a top receiver. unless there is a sleeper wr that you can pick up on the ww, you have to counter for one of his receivers as well.
