Steel City Blues 0 Posted December 12, 2006 Where did your team start after the draft?.....>How did you get the players currently on your team? I'll take the simple yet basic approach. Play to my strengths as a FF manager. Make my own projections Analyze ADP to maximize value based on my projections Good drafting No trading (or very limited) because I suck at making good trades Draft a couple boom or bust WR in the mid to late rounds so I can quickly cut them if they start out slow to grab this year's Colston/Boldin/Favre's new #1 target etc. Results One league - 2nd most points in the league - (without PPR) Strategy: Load up on running backs and snap up break out WR like Colston early. Still finished with 4 WR in the top 14 scoring using this method. #3 QB. #3 & 4 TE. Injuries skewed the RB numbers, but I had Westbrook as the #3 RB and Addai as #12 RB. Another league - 1st in points in the league - (freebie with PPR) Just got lucky with picks & not afraid to take the player I like vs. who I should pick based on ADP projections. Didn't get any player of consequence from the WW as it was first come first served & I don't spend enough time on the pc all day to get players when the news breaks. Third & final league I just joined. - 6th in points - (12 team performance based but no PPR) Made the mistake of drinking heavily before, during and after the draft. Only the drinking after was a good idea. Took Portis and Caddy on the turn (12th pick). Finished 6th in scoring with heavy WW action in an attempt to salvage the team. Lost the division lead this week to the guy who drafted Betts (cruel irony lamb basting the Portis owner with his backup). I do NOT recommend this approach! My original starting lineup based on order picked was: Aaron Brooks Portis Caddy Ward :broken-yo-yo: Mason LJ Smith
