itsbigmoni 1 Posted March 25, 2007 I thought it was a great movie. Maybe you gotta watch it twice or something to understand it. A lot of it has to do with how the U.S. manipulates affairs in the middle east.

MicktheGreat 1 Posted March 25, 2007 I thought it was a great movie. Maybe you gotta watch it twice or something to understand it. A lot of it has to do with how the U.S. manipulates affairs in the middle east. I agree... The first time I saw Syriana, I thought it was average at best. For some reason, I watched it again and it's MUCH better on the second viewing. Personally, I got a little confused with all the characters (and how they were connected) when I watched it the first time--especially because a few of the characters look very similar. However, the plot/connections make a lot more sense the second time through the film, IMO. Plus, Tim Blake Nelson's one monolgue in that movie is incredible... "We have laws against corruption precisely so we can get away with it. Corruption is our protector. Corruption keeps us safe and warm. It's why you and I are prancing around here instead of fighting over scraps of meat in the street. Corruption is why we win."
