LenDale/S.McDonald for Burress - Did I give up too much?

Post-trade roster is in my sig. His team post-trade:

 

QB: Hassellbeck, Garcia

RB: T.Henry, LJ, Taylor, LenDale

WR: Boldin, S.Smith, McDonald, Northcutt

TE: Heap

K: Gostkowski, Dawson

DST: Cowboys, Titans

(because the trade was two for one, he currently has an illegal roster and will need to drop a player)

 

 

I managed to snag Kevin Jones off waivers ahead of his return and have Selvin Young waiting, so I felt my RB depth was sufficient to trade LenDale for a WR. My WR corps has been a liability this year. Fitz has done pretty well. Crayton has been a good #2 but inconsistent at times. McDonald had made a decent #3 but I've largely been rotating a lot of receivers in based on matchups. I needed something more reliable and another manager was seeking RB help (he has T.Henry), so I packaged LenDale and McDonald for Plaxico Burress.

 

This gives me two very solid WRs with Crayton as a great #3, and I still have a solid 1-2 at RB with FWP and K. Jones, plus Young who should be taking over as starter in a week or two.

 

I debated doing this trade as the guys is in my division, only a game behind me in second place, but I tried trading LenDale to a couple other teams for WR help and got nowhere.

 

So, did I make a good trade?

Sure you did.......you were strong at RB and Burress is a consistent starter who will help you much more than White. White may split carries down the road anyway
