The backwards baseball cap

Recommended Posts

I wear a baseball cap almost every day .... but I'm like paler than Conan Obrien ... and I live in Arizona, and I'm balding so .... doctors orders. Really. I'm that vulnerable to skin cancer. I can't get a tan ... I just turn red and freckle. Doc in NYC told me I should wear a "wide brimmed" hat ... OK ... who am I, Indiana Jones? No ... I can wear a baseball cap though.

Never really was a backwards baseball cap kinda guy. I have several old caps ... but only one fitted cap ... a University of Arizona cap. Newish, flat billed style. Obviosly the skin on my forhead looks dumb through the plastic strap of a standard baseball cap, but this fitted hat, almost looks stupid forwards. The flat bill ... not my style. I like a curved bill.

I wear, almost every day .... a black Casino Arizona baseball cap ... forwards. And I plucked out the "casino" embroidery and the logo ... so it just says AriZona. My work cap. Has a nice curved bill. Anyway ... my fitted Arizona hat has the Wildcat logo on the back ... kinda works backwards better than forwards.

I can't style the flat bill ... I'm not ghetto enough.

Also ... nobody has ever complained that I wear a cap at work. I also wear clean, pressed clothes. Wore a cashmere sweater this morning ... I'm no slob. Other teachers wear jeans .... I never wear jeans to work.

However, since I don't teach at Arizona or NYU ... I try not to wear my school caps.

How bad is it, if your professor wears a cap from another school during lecture? It's almost a big subliminal FOCK YOU ... I went to a University .... this is a college. So ... that's why I like that modified Casino AriZona hat. Non-descript.

I mean, I can understand if like Arizona makes the Final 4 .... I'd wear my Arizona cap ... but on a regular basis .... nah.
